Stock ecm? Are the throttle cables binding? Go into Diag mode and check the tps. It should read 0 at idle. What rpms is the bike idling at? When did this start happening? | ||

She just started a couple months ago, to , on occasion, to not back all the way down , when stopped, or pulling in clutch. Wants to hover around 2k, which is just enough to annoy. At first, I could remedy with a quick flick of throttle, but now it doesn't seem to work. | ||

Check your throttle linkages. They might be binding a bit. I'd pull the airbox & the lower cover, and work the throttle while inspecting everything. There may be a lump of crud down there, or a nut may have backed off enough to catch on things. | ||

Before u do that check the throttle position sensor in Diag mode (hold the 2 buttons on the Speedo while turning the key) | ||

Check the little electrical connector on the clutch master cylinder. That switch tells the ECM to add in a little extra throttle when you let out the clutch to reduce the the tendency to stall on take off. If it's unhooked then I think you might get the symptoms that you are seeing. | ||

Yes, and while you are in there, see if Clutch State goes from 0 to 1 as you squeeze and release the clutch, if it does not switch then the ECM does not know you are squeezing the clutch, resulting in the high idle. | ||

Ok, just checked connection on master cylinder, looked ok. Checked clutch state, switched from 0 to 1 and back. Checked tps and got a reading of 2.5 on closed throttle, is that considered out of tolerance? | ||

This happened on my bike a couple days ago. First I tried to reset the tps, then I read this thread. I checked the clutch state in the diag mode and it was staying at zero. I unscrewed the clutch switch from underneath the clutch lever and opened it up. The contacts were grimy, so I cleaned them. Problem solved. | ||

awesome to know this, my bike does this as well, mainly until it warms up, but sometimes even when it's warm. I'm going to do the same and see if it fixes my problem} | ||

if the tps reset doesn't fix it and the other problems mentioned aren't the cause, check your air intake temp sensor, the AIT on my 08 went bad causing it to high idle like you describe. There will be other symptoms, though, the intake air reading on the dash will be way off, much more so than normal. |
