I am new to this forum. I have a 2010 1125CR. There are times when I am slowing down that the motor dies on me when I pull in the clutch lever. Could this be related to the "weep" problem or could it be something else. It doesn't happen all the time, maybe only once out of 25-30 pulls of the clutch. This started right after I changed the oil...used conventional 20W50 motorcycle oil.

Please help...this worries me considering how aggressively I ride.

I don't think so.

My previous 2008 and my 2009 both do/did it on occasion, and neither have/had the weep


Not the stator, since my 2008 actually did it more often.

Not the solenoid, since I've had an EBR computer in both (same computer though)

Certainly unrelated to the clutch weep.
H-D p/n X2086.1AM, EBR Clutch actuator cylinder kit X2086.11AZ and the Oberon kit are all good fixes for the weep.

How many miles on the engine?
Have you taken the bike to a Buell dealer and checked for last ECM maps?
Make sure the clutch switch's connector is fully seated. It and the brake switch unplug way too easily.

Thanks to everyone who has responded to help me with this issue.

I have a Barker exhaust on it with the stock ECM for now...bout to order the EBR ECM. Also running a K&N air filter.

I have 9200 miles on the bike.

I will say this, the problem only started after I changed the oil. Not sure what kind was in it before, but after I put conventional 20W50 in it, the problem started. I was thinking maybe it was messing with the clutch and killing the motor, but not sure. Maybe it is the fact that the tuning isn't perfect considering I am still running the stock ECM and it just screws up from time to time. I will say this...when it dies, it doesn't sputter or shake, it just dies like it would if you were to turn off the key.

As far as the weep goes, it is only oozing...maybe a couple of drops every 70-100 miles. However, I just completed a trackday at TWS back in October where I noticed the weep. It was alot worse at the track...fluid all over the side of the motor. This makes sense due to the higher revs that I put into the bike at the track.

Zack, I checked the clutch and brake connectors...they look good to go.

I hope this doesn't continue as it is pretty scary thinking that I could be in a turn and go to shift having the bike die out on me.

If ya'll can think of anything else, please let me know.

Mine only seem(s) to occur on a stop, and on occasion taking off.

I just figured it's normal, especially since both have done it (the 08 did it more)

Yea, this really stinks if it is normal. Never had a bike that this was normal on.

I love the whole concept of Buell, and their bikes, but if I can't get this fixed I'm prolly gonna sell this thing.

unplug your clutch indicator see if that changes it. It seemed to help my 2009 but you cant start in gear only in nuetral.
The cable is located underneath the clutch MC on the handlebars.

Shooter -

Since you have a Barker, either get the EBR ECM for it or try the OEM muffler.

9200 miles, it should be "loosened up", new motors tend to do this more than ones broken in.
I fell over in a parking lot when Loretta was very young, same scenario.

I can't imagine the new 20W-50 causing this. 3 qts plus filter?

Hang with it, this is a very rewarding machine when it's happy.
