Are there any upgrade regulators that are plug in play besides the stocker? from what i have read so far they all require modification to work. | ||

I just installed a Compufire in my driveway so it wasn't that hard.I used the plugs from the old VR,some crimp connectors and heat shrink tubing to rig up the connectors then taped them up with 3M electrical tape.I know that will make some real deal electrical guys cringe  Also had to trim the under tray and elongate the holes in the VR a little with a Dremmel tool. | ||

From what I've seen, the only worthwhile regulator to change to is the CE605 SB. I put one in my bike, and am loving it. My first one was DOA and I even got it swapped out no hassle, unlike what you hear about the Compufire. | ||

So I pulled the trigger on the compufire. Do I need some paste to out inbetween the regulator and subframe? And is it better to connect direct to the battery or splice back to the stock regulator plug? And last does it matter how I wire the legs in? Thanks in advanced. | ||

I wired mine into the wiring harness and kept the wiring harness upgrade.I have only got in two days of riding and a track day but it seems to have fixed my problem.BTW they had the pos and neg wires labeled backward on mine. | ||

My positive was labeled with the fuse end I assumed that was right. Mine is an 08 I am just upgrading. What about that white paste | ||

The "white paste" is called heatsink compound. Best I know of is Arctic Silver. Z |
