Ive been back on fixing my 1125 and I have discovered my horn and brake lights(tried both front and rear ) dont work.

The bulb and fuse are good.

I started to look farther and found there is no horn on the bike and the wires were tape back.

With the horn not there would that actually cause the brake lights not to work?

No, the line that powers the horn is not connected to the brake like. To boot, they are not connected in series if they were. Have you tried both the front and rear breaks to see if it might just be the switch that is bad?

Yes, neither switch works. The horn and brake lights share a fuse so I thought maybe the shared a common ground or something

Looking at pages 2-8 and 2-9 in the Elec manual, the horn and brakes share a 10A fuse but are on different ground busses.

Verify fuses with a meter or by swapping, don't trust your eye.

OK, I found it. Using my test light I confirmed the switches worked so I took the tailight back out of the undertray. Looks like when I installed the bulb into the socket it pushed one of the contacts farther back than the other just enough to not touch.

This is one cheesy set up for a bulb socket.
