When I sold my race exhaust I let the programmable ECM go with it. Now which preprogrammed ECM would work best with a Torque Hammer? I really don't want to buy the programmable unit. |

Looking at Al's shootout, the easiest may be with the EBR Race map: You will leave a bit of tq and hp "on the table" but respectable output compared to stock ECM and lack of dyno time to tune... GL! |

Thank you for the reply. But it looks like you misunderstood the question. I have the map for the TH that Dris gave me 3 years ago. But to use it I would have to buy the $750 programmable ECM. I'd rather just get a preprogrammed ECM at $305. Or, maybe I'll just put the stock exhaust back on to sell the bike. I want to be ready to buy if something new comes along (i.e.AX? Adventure bike maybe). I'd like to use the TH because of the character it gives the bike which I think would help to sell it. |

Run the fuel map from Dris, mine is a flash on a stock ecm, all I did is swap it for the standard unit. Twin Motorcycles is opening in Texas soon, get in touch with Dris again, I'm sure you can run his map without the programmable ecm. Improves the bike out of sight. Now it has manners around town and is plenty of fun when you put the hammer down! |

They used the fmf race ecm at the time of the testing, not the standard full race system calibration. Personally, I'd have kept the full race exhaust on the bike if at all possible. |

Dean, which would you rather have, an 1125 with full race exhaust or an 1190 with full race exhaust? I can't have both. Thank you for the fmf tip. But I'm wondering if you understood my question. I asked:

You replied:

Your reply says to me that the exhaust shootout test conducted by Al Lighton at American Sportbike used the FMF race ECM for the Torque Hammer exhaust in the test. Is this correct? I've searched the document that describes the test and I can't find any reference to this. That would be great news if you are correct. Then I could just buy a preprogrammed ECM for an FMF and use the TH to sell my bike. |

Psycobilly, how do I get a custom flash on to a stock ECM? Do I need to take it to a former Buell dealer? Please explain because I am not very experienced with this. Thank you. |

Ecm spy or tuner pro would allow you to programme a stock ecm. |

Page 21, line #15 15) Install the programmable race ECM and load the race map supplied by Erik Buell Racing (FMF Map) It's much better than using a stock ecm, but it's still off for fueling. I haven't looked at the map for the fmf myself, so I don't know what it (the TH) really needs. If you stay with the stock ecm, use TunerPro RT. I wouldn't suggest using ecmspy for it. |

Btw, the fmf map was used on them all. I think it may have been the only one available at the time other than the full race (ie; the Buell full exhaust system) map. Oddly enough, all of mine seem to run reasonably well on their full system map. Sure, it's got a couple of quirks/dips, but it works well enough. So far, I've used it on 5 different systems on my personal bike, including a full system, headers on back. |

If the firmware of the flash is the same as your stock ECM then you could use ECM Read for Mono to flash it on. You will need cable, cable drivers, Mono Runtime, and ECM Read executables. Cable drivers can be *itch sometimes to load but not too bad. If it's not the same firmware then you can still do it, but will need to copy fuel and spark tables and scales from Dris' flash to your stock file using Tuner Pro and the re-burn. Xopti has some posts here as well as some Youtube vids that should help you getting things set up. |

Dean, thank you. Even the map I have from Dris (3 years old) has quirks. I'm sure his latest one would be improved. But the big thing here is that i can just get a preprogrammed for FMF ECM and run with no hassle. I'm not comfortable with tinkering with the map in a stock ECM. I just want to sell the bike. |

Thanks Dris, but if I was going to use your map I would have to buy $750 ECM. I"m trying to sell the bike so that might not be a good move. |

Dris, I just checked your Web site and a stock ECM reflash is listed at €425,00. Is that correct? Any suggestions on what shipping costs will be from Albuquerque, NM to the Netherlands, and back? |
