The right front fork seal on my '08 1125R blew at around 5000-6000 miles (I forget exactly), and I just noticed it was leaking again this morning. The bike has about 9000 miles on it now. I wheelie the bike with moderate frequency but try to set the front end down smoothly. Since it's just the right seal that's leaking, I suspect that part of the reason is the braking forces are probably more significant on the right fork tube.

This time I've decided to try the All Balls Racing fork seal kit. It's $25 shipped on Ebay, and is supposed to last 3-4 times as long as stock. Considering I'm averaging 4000-6000 miles out of the right front fork seal, any improvement will be welcome. I'm going to change both fork seals since the All Balls seals are supposed to have less stiction than stock.

Also, I bought the late '08+ softer fork springs and I'm going to install them when I change the fork seals. (In order to have sag feel right with the heavier early '08 springs, I've got the preload backed off all the way.)

When I changed the fork seals last time, I went to Spectro 10wt fork oil as well. It was a very nice improvement in damping and feel compared to stock--I highly recommend it.

I ended up buying from this Ebay vendor:

These other two Ebay vendors have more manufacturer propaganda about why these seals are "better". http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALL-BALLS-FORK-DUST-SEAL-K IT-BUELL-HELICON-1125-R-2008-09-/230854575615?forc ev4exp=true&forceRpt=true

I know most people say to stick with OEM fork seals, but since I'm 0 for 2 on the right fork tube in less than 10k miles, I think I'm justified in trying something else. <fingers>

Remember that the right side picks up a lot more brake dust due to the caliper/rotor on that side. It might be worth the extra effort to wipe that fork leg down fairly often; the dust can't help the seal.

I got some covers for my fork tubs for a dirt bike they work good. Try a thin feeler gage or paper some thing like that you could work up by your seal. some dirt could be holding your seals open so oil will leak out that happened to me.

don't forget to check for nicks/scratches in your fork tube. inspect closely

I keep the bike pretty clean including wiping down the fork lowers, and the pads I use are almost dust free so I don't think contaminants are damaging the seal. I'll check very closely for nicks but I think I did that last time and the tubes were fine. And I'll check for contaminants just to be sure, too.
