tired of people saying how quiet my 1125r is. Can i run straight pipes like most harleys, and if so what do i need to do to the ecm? im thinking fab shop and straight pipes left and right turn outs, easy right should cost? not much, should be loud as heck? |

You'll never get away with it on the streets. Pull your muffler off and you'll understand. It sounds like a top fuel dragster. |

the term silent but deadly comes to mind....plus with a straight pipe you will go from stealthy and fast, to loud and mediocre....kind of like comparing a stock mustang GT and a honda civic with a straight pipe (little much on comparison but you get the picture). Im 21...trust me i wish my was louder lol, but let me tell you when i come home at 1am from a ride or hangin out i dont have to worry about waking up my whole neighborhood...OR when im givin her the beans and worrying about a cop a mile down the road that heard me coming is just waiting for me, whereas otherwise he woulda had no idea i was comin... Put this on it with a race ecm from EBR, you will make plenty of noise and a wee bit (15+ hp) more power than stock.

Listen to Dean, he's got a proven system that makes great H.P., sounds great and is quite beautiful. Buy it and you'll be well pleased. Dean, it looks like you have a perforated insert in the muffler. Is it a permanent fixture or removable? Very nice, as me how I know. Good stuff you have there, well done bud! That's just the internal core, it shows up like that once it's powdercoated. |

Skip to 1:45. To be honest, it was way too loud! Had to wear earplugs all the time. http://youtu.be/_7LM9N5YNVk (Message edited by spike240sx on September 25, 2012) |

I got totally burt out from my loud pipe (not Dean's) and went back to the stock. I am really loving it quiet. I ride better too; more focused. Power difference on the street is nominal. Still using my OSB tune. Runs great. That said, Dean does make a great product. (Message edited by Rodrob on September 25, 2012) |

I have used My S1's D&D more times than I care to admit to wake up someone that was unaware of my presence, trying to kill me. |

Same here (hear). If you want to be loud with your Harley buddies buy some beater cheap honda/yam/suzu cruiser, throw some Harley stickers and loud pipes on it and go. Since you're in Florida you don't need a bike that handles anyway. |

You could always tackle the job yourself and mod your existing can. Since you are wanting to do something else anyway, what have you got to lose? This aint no Harley. Open pipes on it are probably 10 times louder then open pipes on a Harley. Pull the can off and see. I pulled mine off revved it with an evil grin for about 10 minutes, stepped outside to a crowd of angry neighbors...lol. Oh yeh it's what I really want but it would be alot of trouble. You say it wouldnt matter in your area so pull the can and ride with open headers for about 10 minutes see how it goes...lol. Make us a video. |

I'm running Deans RT1 with a quiet insert and an EBR ecm. I note the ecm because it also drops the tone at idle. My bike sounds very nice without terrifying people. I can ride all day with no ear plugs and I would go deaf from wind noise before the pipe. It has a deeper thump to it and people in traffic still notice me. I get nothing but compliments on the sound of this bike...alot actually. Highly recommend the RT1 |

I have a home made setup that I ran using a Two Brothers Can, a D&D y pipe and some flex. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NElb1zFTmsw You can have the whole thing for $40 plus shipping. Needs some cleaning. It's loud. |

The Y pipe is from a D&D that caused me to lowside when I dragged it in a turn. I'll take new pictures so you can see the current condition before committing. |
