Changed out my rear brake pads today, and noticed that one of the little wires(clips) that hook to the back of the pads was broken. It goes between the two raised notches on the pad and goes around the stem on the piston.

Looked in the parts manual and it wasn't shown in the rear brake diagram.

Anyone know a part number.

I have read that you can only get them with the OEM rear pads.

It's the only way I know to get them, too. And, they wear out long before the pads do.

Next time around, I'm going to buy a different rear caliper so I have a better pad choice.

Just got those brake pads from American Sport Bike and they didn't have the clips.

Kruizen - PM me your address, I have one or two handy I think.
I have a magnet on a rear pad I use for current work orders.
Pretty sure it has the clip still.

Going in soon to port heads, port heads and port heads.
It's nice to be busy, but I need a day off.

If you put the pads in without the clips, they are rattling around loose in your caliper.

IIRC it's not too serious of a condition because of the caliper design, but it's definitely not correct.
