ECM Tuning People,

How many people would like a Lite version of the files? This way you only get the base settings like maps, afv, o2 and so on. These will be areas you normally adjust in the ecm VS the full version that we currently have.

This would take out all the many tables and scalers you never adjust or need to see in the file. The program will still pull the whole ecm's eeprom and burn it. it just will have a smaller set of layout instructions.

This way for new guys learning it you wont be so over powered by all the data.

This would alter the XDF only, the ADX you need the full file we have now.

Also how many want diag settings to do test and to clear codes? the ddfi2 will get tps reset where the ddfi3 does it by way of the throttle so that does not need to be in it.

Regards,

Xopti
Mike

A "how-to" for dummies would be a great place to start. Maybe a list of stuff you need installed to start out from scratch, maybe screenshots of how to connect, read, download/fetch data, etc.

Even better, a well thought out video going through the whole process.

A sample of the lite attached. It needs a couple scalars removed but that is it.

The files needed are the Tunerpro RT (free)

The XDF for the eeprom to understand the data structure. Full version or Lite version(learning version, but it has everything needed to re-tune the bikes all ecms, all years...)

The ADX for live data and error codes.

The Plugin to read write and unzip it then put that into the documents Tunerpro folder named plugins.

A Rs232 cable to connect to the bike>

I'm setup to make a couple small videos on connecting and setup to use the Tunerpro RT program to read/write and save data.

I have to make a bue2d Lite XDF first.

I should be recording by Wednesday once I get my test station into the office.

Hopefully this helps people whom are stuck or scared of the Program.

This is the BUE2D Lite... It's no more than the XDF with a lot of removed Items so it is not so overwhelming to learn the ecms. You have everything needed in this version without all the fluff...

application/zip
BUE2D_V5_ Lite.zip (3.3 k)

I'll certainly give the new XDF a shot--on one hand, I like having the full unedited version just for the sake of having it, but on the other, since I don't understand what 95% of the stuff does (and that may be a conservative estimate), limiting the XDF to just the tuning-related stuff is a good idea.

Thanks!

The ADX files are updated online now.

I also posted some of the Lite files I have completed.

I've downloaded the Lite file and am browsing through it now--it's definitely a lot less overwhelming.

A question: When browsing the fuel maps, the left hand column has numbers going from 7 - 100 in varying increments, which I'm guessing are throttle position percentages, with 100 being WOT. But there are also 125, 175 and 255 in the column as well. If the column is throttle position in percent, how can there be percentages past 100?

Oh, nevermind, I see that the lefthand column is load in 8-bit format. I'm guessing that 255 in 8-bit is equivalent to 100% in standard decimal?

nope, It will not work natively in mac but if you use something line VMware fusion and put a windows application on that it will work. I run one of the Laptops like that I use. The Laptop is Ubuntu as its OS and I run Xp in vmware inside of that. It works flawless...

quick question..

If one is proficient with TunerPro (ECMSpy still needed?),
could you program your 2009 1125R stock ECM to the 'upgraded' EBR race ECM?
(or whatever you wanted configured?)
and therefore, save some $$?

All ethics aside about pirating/stealing, the Race ECM uses a different firmware version than most stock ECMs, so you can't just dump a Race ECM file into it.

well...
what i'm getting at is, could you end up with a similar end result using your config or settings.

i suppose if you set out to copy it - you might could; but my intended purpose was,
are these viable options to be weighed?
- new EBR racing ECM
or
- TunerPro custom config

i've read here that the EBR racing ECM is a definite upgrade

thanks for the reply Froggy - i see now that this thread wouldn't bump TTT d/t archives

If you really wanted to, you could load up anyones EEPROM (race, stock, custom, etc), and then copy down the data, and then manually put it in the matching box of your bikes EEPROM, and it will work.

Personally I do recommend buying the Race ECM, it is the easiest way to go, but a totally custom tune will fit the bike better if you are willing to invest the time and money to tune it right.

thank you.. thats the answer i was looking for.
it's pretty tempting - to pursue my own custom EEPROM. but, i haven't a clue if i'd be able to get to that level of expertise.

well, i think its doable, but the cost in time might be a hurdle for me

pffft
i still have to fix the clutch weep; upgrade the stator rotor

i'm a long way from ECM bs.
: )
