Does anyone know what size the rear axle pinch bolt is? I took it out to find a longer one so I could drill the head for safety wiring and I... lost it. If someone could tell me what size the original is I will go ahead and buy the longer one and a spacer. Thanks | ||

You should be able to get the bolt easily from good engineers suppliers its a standard thread M12 x 1.5 pitch which is standard on this thread size not coarse please ensure you get high tensile steel not standard Mac | ||

Sorry but it's actually a m12x1.75x50. Not 1.5 pitch | ||

With metric fasteners, if no pitch is stated, coarse is implied. <edit> There is NO "standard" anymore in common use. Coarse and fine. (Message edited by zac4mac on May 26, 2012) | ||

Fastenal has just what you need (Except the spacer). I made mine from 12 mm nut, drilled out to fit shoulder of pinch bolt, then turned on a drill press using a file until the flats disappeared. (Didn't have the time to track down a 'proper' spacer). Fits in the recess perfectly, and provides enough reveal to easily wire the pinch bolt.  | ||

Yup. Get it from a professional hardware store for a fraction of the price at a dealership. I bought an extra two for half the price of 1 from the dealer! It looks identical to the OEM. | ||

Thanks. As usual BadWebbers come through. I found it at Ace Hardware and they still had three thread pitch designations. Also, I found the stock one. It was in the swingarm pinching the axle. |
