Ok, this is kinda hard to explain so I will try my best. I have an 09 1125r. When you turn the key on, it sounds like fuel pumping in to start it. I know this is what's supposed to happen, however after I shut the bike off, and take the key out, it continues to make the slight whistle/pumping sound as if you first turned the key on? It will continue to do this in about 30 second intervals for hours!! If you turn the key past lock and then back it stops. Is this normal? The bike runs fine and have no other issues. Hopefully someone understands what I'm trying to explain and has some sort of answer? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I know exactly what you are talking about and for the most part it is normal. Has to do with keeping the fuel pressure up to prevent a hot restart problem (vapor lock). However... mine typically only does it for the first 5-10 minutes after shutdown. If yours is doing it for hours on end then might be something to be concerned about if it's killing your battery. If not then don't loose too much sleep over it.

Thanks for the response. I have never let the battery run down because of it, I always just turn past the lock and back. Glad it's not just mine. I really appreciate you helping me out. Have a great day.

Something is wrong if it does this "for hours".
Very early ECM programming had the pump keep fuel rail pressure for 30 minutes.
Mid-2008 the firmware was changed to keep pressure up for only 10 minutes.
The cycle frequency will vary with fuel systems, the duration - 10 minutes - should not.

I turned my bike on today, I checked the diag mode, it say I have a fuel system error 193, I'm figuring it's to high of a fuel pressure! That's probably y my fuel pump hasnt been comming on!
