After installing a brand new, ceramic-coated full exhaust system, dressing her up nice, taking her out on the town and showing her a good time she repays me with this:  Heartbreakin' bitch. lol Is this indeed the dreaded clutch weep? The $100 EBR part is in order? I think I saw another Houston area 1125 rider with this issue have Goe Cycles in Angleton install the EBR part with good results. <sigh> Nels | ||

the brake/hydraulic fluid will take the paint off the side cover - QUICK! wash the dribble off - plain water will dilute it enough to stop the paint removin action | ||

Spin your puck around 180 degrees and keep riding until your new part arrives, just keep an eye on fluid level in reservoir. | ||

EB R clutch actuator is the fix and its easy peezy to do. Mine leaked for a year before I got the real fix and the fluid didn't stain or take the paint of the cover - maybe I just got lucky <shrug> ? | ||

It's powder coat not paint. Shouldn't be affected buuuut wash it away and turn puck as suggested. | ||

Mine started bubbling the paint on the puck. So I just stripped the rest of the paint off and polished it. | ||

I was under the extended warranty, but those bastards told me "clutch problems weren't covered." Court gave me some ideas to get my money back, but I had just HAD it with that worthless dealer in Long Island City. That was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back and I parted ways with the 1125R. Waiting to see if EBR comes up with something affordable and practical, and it is sold through ANYTHING but a Harley dealer (the exception being the guys in Danbury... but it's too far for me to be practical) and we'll see. I liked my 1125R, but what I really want/need is an everyday, all-purpose ride. Something like what the Japanese used to sell in the late 70's/early 80's. In the meantime my Maxi Scoot works out just fine. |
