I disliked the stock club-man bars and swapped to the high bars soon after I got mt CR. I have always wished that there was a bar between the club-man and the high bar... Then I read a post about a XB guy flipping the club-mans over and I decided to give it a try:












It feels great sitting on it in the garage but I haven't rode it yet. Will give her a test run in the AM in the twists!

Setting 5. Did a ride today with some buddies and LOVE the new bar set up! Still high enough to be comfortable but further forward in a better riding position!

The clutch and brake lines(from the highbar kit) are perfect for this setting... They are actually a little too long for the highbar kit and this works better. The throttle cables are too long and the wrong angle to route behind the headlight so I had to route them along the side and UNDER the lower triple but I actually had them like that on my high bar kit too as it caused less binding and better throttle return. Only one ride on it and I LOVE it so far!

Xtreme, I've been thinking bout doing this myself. Any chance you can post a close up pic or two of how the throttle cables etc. are routed. I had the highbar set up and it was comfy riding but too high. Thanks in advance.

It's SOOO much better than stock for me. riding time is not really an issue anymore for my butt.

I did this to mine last summer and the riding position is excellent. The highbar kit does not match the performance character of this bike. I felt too cramped and upright. The stock clubs are too far forward. Flipping the bars requires the high bar extended cables and such, but it really is as simple as removing the high bar and placing the flipped clubman.

The position is natural, comfortable, with confident control. Way better than the high bar.

They were set up in a group buy on Buelletinboard. The side is in Italian I think but the guy who put the group buy together was able to get everything sorted out and got us a pretty good deal on shipping.

You can Google "pellacrash frame sliders" but I could not find a link to the actual product, just forum discussions about them and the group buy

Nick, I keep looking back at the pics - both the mod and your bike look GREAT.

So I'd need the extended cables for brakes/throttle, etc... but what about for the stock front turn signal/mirrors?

When I swapped to the high bar I got the little covers from American Sport Bike that fill in the gap thats left from where the cables go thru the headlight assembly.... As you can see I swapped to some different mirrors that don't have the signals intergrated so I bought some LED front signals that I attached to those little spacers from American Sport Bike and ran my signals there... When I put the clubman bars back on and the cables route thru the headlight again I had to remove the spacers and turns. So now I have no front signals untill I pick out some new ones

I've tried a few reroutes of the throttle and clutch cables and can't seem to get it right with out binding or just not reaching, etc.. If anyone else that's done the flip could add a few close ups of the routing, would be extremely helpful.

I've been riding this weekend with the flipped clubman bars, so much more comfortable to ride. So much so that I also ordered and installed the EBR ECM, this ride rules!! Thanks for the post Xtreme!

It gives the bike more trail, steadying the front end. Call it a cheap(free) steering damper.

Raise the front on the CR. It makes a huge difference in both stability and handling, IMHO.

Start with 9mm showing above the OEM triple clamp...

The motorcycle has a tendency to sit up in the standard state in the curve, which is even worse when you put through the front fork

Am I reading the above posts wrong? Or does it seem that we now have two diametrically-opposed suggestions on what is "correct" for fork/triple clamp/trail on the CR?

I came to my setting recommendation based on track time and testing. Admittedly, I'm fully 10 seconds a lap slower on my CR than R, and I never really have come to like it on the track.

I did not find the bike to have a tendency to steer too heavy or stand up by raising the front ride height. Quite the opposite, actually.

I kept loosing the front with the stock geometry. I think raising it helps a TON.

That steers the bike better, it pushes through the front fork to the top. It is not advisable since 1125 when it is very front heavy already.
