Did you lower the front of your bike? Looks like you have more than average fork tube above the clamps.

No, stock setup against the retaining rings. I've had the front end off of it once to replace the steering stem bearings though.

The best i had on the CR whilst touring Europe fully loaded equated to just over 200miles on a tank full and regularly got in excess of 170miles most of this was at 70mph +
