So my 1125r is throwing a P0628 engine code and i am in the process of diagnosing it. Can anybody tell me how to troubleshoot the ECM? In the manual it says to connect them to the HD Breakout box. Is there some way to check terminals 27 and 28 without the dealer? I have two dealers that are "close" to me, going north six hours or going south 6 hours. I have tried a jumper wire set up but those darn pins are just too close together. | ||

Yes, for now I am assuming its the fuel pump but a new one is over 300 dollars and im a little short on cash right now. The diagnostic charts end with replacing one of three things: the Fuel Pump, the Instrument Cluster and the ECM. The first step is to check terminals 27 and 28 of the ecm but I am not sure how to do that without the "Breakout Box" from Harley. Aside from all that is there anywhere out there that we can go to learn more about how to troubleshoot electrical problems. You know, information on voltmeters and whats going on with the different currents and stuff?? | ||

Thanks Dean I have already ordered one. But I sure would like to know whats wrong with this one. Its not doing anything that the other threads mention. Its not cycling continuously, Its not coming on intermittently, no chaffed wires and the sensor shows within the correct range of ohms. Anyway, Ill throw the new one in and im sure that will fix it. Thanks again. |
