Just back from a 60 mile loop on my new Bridgestone 023's and am very pleased. Just came off Roadsmarts and the steering was notably lighter with these and they just have a very nice overall feel. I've also had two types of Michelins and the stock tires too, like these this most for general feeling. If I can get over 2500 miles I'll be very pleased. Single compound front, dual rear. Like that combo wear-wise.

I average 7000+ on the rear with the BT-016's so the 023's should last even longer since they're more sport-touring oriented.

I got 3000 out of my 016's on one of my bikes, impressive tire for the cost... switched to the 023's, happy with them too so far.

I have some mixed feelings on the BT-023's. I had my rear Corsa III tire showing cords after only 2300 miles. Unfortunately I was in the middle of a cross country trip and the local shop didn't have much of a selection, which is how I ended up with the 23.

I put about 300 miles on the tire before pushing it. After getting them scrubbed in I dropped the pressure to 34psi before heading onto a road with lots of switch backs. After taking it easy for the first several turns I began to slowly give her the juice but still not at knee dragging speeds. On turn 20 or so, well after the apex, while at constant throttle, the rear tire just let lose. There was absolutely no indication that I was pushing the envelope and wasn't close to scraping the pegs. I went back to check and found no sand or road debris in the corner. I have no idea why that tire let loose.

I've put a total of 5,600 miles on the tire since then with no additional incidences. The rear tire is wearing awesome, I bet I'll get over 8K on this tire. Unfortunately it just doesn't have the feedback feel of the Corsa III's. Because of that I just don't trust it like I did the Corsa's.

For a long distance trip or commuting I'd be all in on this tire. For the spirited riding that I like to do I'm looking for something different...Q2's maybe?

Q2, PP2CT, PP, DRC, etc... they all work well and are a good choice for this bike.

I seem to be in the minority here, and am not overly impressed with the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT.

If the rear tire's not at middle-high operating temperatures it tends to squirm. Any time I've hit paint they really seem to let go a bit too - I've learned to be exceptionally careful in traffic circles where there are sections of "bars" of paint indicating pedestrian crosswalks. Almost went off into the rhubarb once at a normal speed for a traffic circle - hit the paint, and by some fantastic bit of luck managed to keep it upright.

Preferences...

I've run a set or two of just about every sport tire made now on this bike. I don't love the 2CT on the Buell, but I like it a LOT on other bikes. I was only "OK" on the Pure as well, but it worked well enough I suppose. The Bridgestone 003RS major disadvantage was that horrible front tire profile and the difficulty of mounting the tire because of the overly stiff carcass.

My favorite for a street tire is still the Corsa III and now the DRC. But, most of what I run on the bike is either the Superbike Pro endurance slick or a true race DOT tire, which are worthless for street applications.
