Well I certainly noticed the handling falling off, and an inspection today showed me why. I was expecting a bit more than 7055 miles out of the stock front Diablo III, but oh well. Wear bars on the left are showing more wear as well. I don't think I've got an issue, probably just taking left turns more or harder, but just in case, I'll ask if there might be an issue.  | ||

I don't check them as often as I should, but have never been really low (like in the 20s) I am a big heavy guy, which probably makes pressure more important yet. Recommended pressures? (Message edited by sprintst on October 05, 2011) | ||

looks normal to me for running it that low on tread. seen it before. i run 32 psi. but i like em sticky and don't care about wear so much | ||

No, not kidding, I was thinking 9~10k probably usually 3 rears per front, but I don't pay that much attention. I think my Triumph Sprint got about that, got rid of it with 18k, I think it was only on the 2nd front. (yes, very different bike) (Message edited by sprintst on October 05, 2011) | ||

It isn't unreasonable. I never broke the 10k mark on a Corsa 3 due to changing early, but it would be doable. I've gotten 18,000 miles on a Scorpion Sync on my XB. | ||

Looks like you got your money's worth! i usually estimate 2 rears per front. but sometimes it's more like 1.5 rears per front. 36/34 or 38/36 FR/RR pressure seems to work well for me (bigger guy too = probably 280-290 AUW) anyone else have suggestions on pressure - especially other folks on the bigger side? | ||

I barely got 2500 km from my stock corsa's rear tire; and about 8000 km on the front. I switched to Continental Road attacks and prefer them significantly, and I get more than double the wear. I found the corsa's terrible for wear | ||

34/36 for me. I'll probably see mid 8K to 9K on the front. I got almost 5K on the factory rear. But I was leary of the power at first  | ||

nice tire. Sounds like you got your money's worth on that stock tire. I recently installed some pilot road 2 and love the tire. It's supposed to last a little longer than the corsa's | ||

Are the roads where you ride crowned? That wears my tires on the left more, suprised nobody mentioned that. Also I think once you wear tires past the wear bars they go downhill REALLY fast. Add in a little low pressure, all that adds up to a tire that looks as terrible as yours. | ||

Maybe just making more lefts than rights too. Agree that tire pressure crown rider weight all conspired on that one. | ||

I know in my case , I am more comfortable being aggressive on left handers than on rights. I believe this is very common. Can you imagine highway ramps being counterclockwise  I bet accident rates would soar....even all the pickup trucks with Nascar decals plastered on the rear window would be spinning out all over | ||

Installed a new Dunlop Sportmax Q2 on tonight. Went pretty easily. Not bad considering the last, and only tires I've installed on motorcycles was 30 years ago.  Now, I've done tens of thousands of bicycle tires, but they are a lot easier..... Yes, mixing tires, but the new Q2 rear is sitting in the garage and as you can see from the pics it will need to be installed pretty soon | ||

I got an email from pirelli when I asked about a tire problem: Hello Tire bluing is normally related to aggressive riding, abrasive pavement, incorrect suspension settings for the application, or incorrect tire pressures. Tire bluing is not considered to be a flaw in the product. We would suggest that you bump up the tire pressure to 38-40 and just ride the bike. You should also note the DCIII is considered to be a ultra high performance street/track day tire and it is even used in Europe as a race tire. Finally you may want to double check the accuracy of your tire gauge too. Thanks for the e-mail and have a great day. Here in Western Orygun all my tires wear like that it is caused by crown in the road. It is like your bike is making a constant left hand turn to compensate. | ||

Damn, 7340 and the rear was showing cords! that went quick must really buy a bead breaker, it was a royal PIA, but nice to have the matching Q2 on now Actually, I got 4,000 out of that Diablo Corso Rosso, the stock tire was shot at 3300. Not bad. (Message edited by sprintst on October 15, 2011) |
