Ohlins TTX shock is back. Want to kick myself for not getting one from Al when he was blowing them out. They also added some nice billet footpegs, clipons and the accosato stuff, as well as the mythical vesrah brake pads! | ||

I'm shocked they are selling the brake pads openly! Hopefully they have a dependable supply now! I like the Nissins slightly better, but the Vesrahs are pretty awesome, and highly recommended for a track day vs. anything else in the public market. I recently tried the Ferodo as well. They have both a race and street compound. The race compound is better than EBC Extreme, but not as good as the Nissins or Vesrah, IMHO. The price was right though: about $100/set. They would be great for a trackday guy. | ||

The nissins are the 2015 compound? I've been using the Performance Friction set from E.B.R., and they are great for dual duty but obviously $$$ Any Vesrah pad I've tried (on friends bikes) I've loved. They also added a rigid mount rider bracket set for very cheap. | ||

> 19x20 and 19x18? Feel. The 18 will require more lever pull, but also give you a touch more leverage. The 20 will have a "hard" or sudden feel, not unlike what Ducati brakes often feel like. They are often preferred for racing, though I am not personally of that opinion. | ||

The nice thing about the PF is you can really grab a handful of them and they are unlikely to all-of-the-sudden grab on you. I haven't seen these, but it sounds a LOT like what I have on my bike, which is basically an OEM rearset stuck in the mill for use with rigid pegs. (Also on the Erik Buell Racing site.) If that's the case, I'm gonna give them a big thumbs up. The Erik Buell Racing billet pegs are really durable and the knurling on them makes them grippy, grippy and easy to ride. I saw the rigid mount rider setup on there a while back, I've also done the same thing as Jdugger. I like them.  The TTX that they have is a bit different than the ones that American Sport Bike had. I purchased one from Al, it's very nice, but does not have the remote preload adjuster or the high/low speed adjustments. | ||

Wait, Vesrah actually makes a pad for the ZTL2?! I'm a huge fan of the SRJL-17 compound for street and track use. Where does the XX compound's performance fall compared to the SRJL-17? Streetable or no? | ||

I checked the Vesrah site a year or more ago and didn't see any pads listed for ZTL2. I just checked and there still isn't anything under the racing heading for the 1125s. The SRJL-17 compound is supposed to be a race compound but it has impressive initial bite and stopping power even when cold, making it a great street pad. So just because the XX is marketed as a race compound doesn't necessarily mean that it can't be a good street compound too. If anyone has any first-person experience with the XX compound on the 1125, I'd love to hear it. I'm using the Dunlopad HH sintered pads on my 1125R and my CBR600F2--it's a great compound with very good initial bite and stopping power, but the SRJL-17 edges it out a bit in my opinion. So if Vesrah made a pad comparable to the SRJL-17 compound for the 1125, I'd switch to it. | ||

Initial bite is more for feel than stopping power. Ive used the xx and the plain RJL. It takes more heat to use the xx to full potential. Then again I'm using dual calipers on my race duty R. Race track day duty ... other than that don't waste your money | ||
