PS, who's the music by in the first section? I'm liking it.

Legal or not, splitting lanes is a bit much for me. I can see taking chances occasionally, but you never know what the moron in the cage is going to do. Otherwise it's good, lots of nice roads there.

the opening song is a band called "underoath"
its "screamo"/hardcore so this is the only song that you might like, unkess you like screamo/lol
yah i lane split but try not to get a huge variation in speed to cars around me, i try to stay with in 5 mph of traffic...out of frame was a car to my right so i felt no one was coming over, i tried to keep the vid clean of squid like behaivor but it was motogp weekend and bikes pretty much takeover the 1 for the weekend.

I'm not trying to put down the ride style, just saying it isn't something I'd do. As long as you can get away with it and survive, have at it. : D

I'll look around on youtube for more of the band. Thanks.

Hah, that's stuff my kids listen to, I've got several cd's in my truck with that music on them.

i on my old mac computer with editing software.
does the video run choppy for you guys?
i can try a different compression if it does.
i made it short so my non moto friends would watch it, i tryed to convey a ride going some where.....i have tons of footage of the 2 i will probably make a vid of for riders like us

i left my house and rode straight up the 15 to the 135 to the 2 and then jumped the 210 to the 5 to the 126 into ventura for the night
the next day was 101 to the 1 t the track where i meet up with the asb/loveshack compound

one of the craziest things was stopping on the 1 and having another red cr came from the opposite direction so i waved him down and he pulled over turned out to be a person from here.......

well i could not get thursday off to ride up with the scab group.
so friday i was pretty much all alone and the two was barrin except for a few people at newcombs ranch.
saturday even though i was solo i was never really alone and the group you see in the vid played leap frog with me all day and the last rider in the group would always make sure i was good when ever they psssed and i was pulled over for a smoke with a thumbs up communication back and forth finally got to talk to him at the light before monterey.
in the last bit everyone is leaving the track cause im rolling up late and they were telling me cops via signal so when i saw the group of chp to the right hiding in the shadows i gave them a big shacka and they smiled back!
at that moment i realized i made it!!!!!!

I gotta say that's one of the most well put together riding videos I've seen, and not just because I'm the other red CR on hwy 1 he's hanging with. (about halfway through I'm in the background for a moment getting something out of the tail bag) The music works really well especially, even though I don't know any of it but I'm old. It really is great running into one of the other Buellers out on the road. This forum has a lot of interesting characters, and sorta like Guzzis, ya gotta be a bit outside the box to ride Buell. (a few of yous guys gotta lighten up a teenie bit though, eh?)
Good meeting ya Naiguy.

Great vid! Did you use a GoPro setup? I was amazed at the lack of shaking when you stopped. I mounted a GP to my S1 and got mostly "jello cam" when I wasn't going at speed. Either your bike doesn't vibrate as much as my tuber, or you have a great mount for it...

Brumbear, why 7:30 AM? I see you're in Jersey, so maybe your thinking sunrise stuff? The sun's not over the hills at PCH yet. Maybe you're thinking something other than that. As a former Jersey guy myself (hence Duphuckincati)I can tell you that PCH is great but there's plenty other roads out here too that'll blow your mind and almost no cops on them. Especially without that NJ State Trooper attitude!

Send me some damn PIZZA wouldja!

Duph,
Sooner then later I'm goina come up there and ride those roads you showed me on my map with you!

Billy ,
I used a suction cup mount on the left pod and most if not all the footage over 80 mph is blurry as heck but for some shots I made sure to hold it steady for at least five seconds so I could get some usable clips
The key was to have a rough shot list going into the ride and an idea of what I wanted the short video to communicate story wise. I wasn't trying to make a all out knee dragging the 2 crazy YouTube movie, but more of something I wouldn't be afraid to show
My familly and friends to help them understand why I rode off all by myself to go to some race.
I could have spent more time
On it but that I don't have so I did what I could while my girls were sleeping over the weekend and called
It, although
I have a ton more footage that if I find the time will edit, but now that I have the camera it's more fun to go get clips: )
Although I do have plans to make another one next year and if everything
Comes together the cr camera bike will be chasing a rs!

I made a test run today on my xb9r that I won't be sharing: ) maybe one soon when I go on a small trip. anyway, have to say they're pretty fun gadgets.

You got a go pro? did you get the hd?
I'm going to finagle a hd from go pro!
So that makes two for next years ride ; )
Mount one off the back of you bike and one off the front off mine and it could make for some more dynamic edits......, then I convince one of my production buddies from the surf industry/ fuel tv why he needs to document our journey and film from a car and sticks at strategic locals and boooom! Epic short film
Maybe try to land some sponsors to help the budget
And really up the production value.........we have plenty of time to plan it almost a year.
Could be fun

Thanks for the info. I'm having fun with my GoPro. I helped organize a charity ride here in MA and convinced one of the motorcycle cops to let me mount it on his bike because the cops leapfrog the line to get to the next intersection. The best place for mounting was on his saddle bag facing rearward. MAN, those things shake at any speed. As luck would have it, he would park it and kill the engine at each of his intersections, so I have great footage of the bikes as they went by. I was pretty pleased with the helmet mount, and got some good stuff from the frame mount on the left side of my bike. Handlebar mount was pretty cool, especially as you get into a twisty and see all the background panning horizontally behind your head...

Loved the video!

I've ridden those roads dozens of times on a variety of different bikes and cars. Love it. I just did a weeklong tour of the place. Hwy 1 is awesome and beyond Laguna Seca, it stretches for a few hundred miles north that is simply motorcycle heaven.

I live in SoCal so I also lane split regularly. Once you get used to it, you will never want to go back to not being able to do it. Whatever perceived danger there is rarely if ever materializes. It's done around the world except North America! Go figure. CA is the only state that allows it and it's like having shackles undone. It makes motorcycle riding all the more desirable.

I ended up getting the hd motorsports package. has all the mounts needed. only used the suction cup arm attachment so far. fun stuff. have a whole year to figure some techniques out.
