2009 1125R, nearly 18,000 miles, on the ORIGINAL stator and wiring harness...

I'd think so. Did you do a lot of those miles all at once? I think the more starts and stops are more important than actual mileage.

I had to crack mine open on the race bike this weekend, and the stator insulation on the coils was still milky white -- nothing like the brown pictures here.

Mostly commuting back and forth to work. A lot of weekend "play riding" and I've done a couple of track days with Keith Code and Jason Pridmore. But, I'd say the majority of the riding is split between commuting and back road playing. Most of that right here on Long Island (in the NYC Metro area).

Congratulations, maybe not a record, but certainly notable!

Ohsoslow: Nope... see original post... still on original stator and original harness. I didn't INTEND to still be on the original harness but unfortunately my new servicing dealer (NYC Harley Buell) has proven to be spectacularly inept at either GETTING the updated harness, or bothering to notify me when it came in. TWO attempts to date, and NOTHING. As bad as Nassau County Harley Buell used to be, they weren't THIS bad.

Anecdotal evidence (which isn't really reliable anyway) indicates a lot of stator failures occurred AFTER the harness upgrade, so I haven't really pressed the issue either.

When the bike goes in next, I'm going to have the dealer replace the alternator cover (I bought it earlier, but it looked too involved to replace myself). Once he has it off, we can see what the stator looks like then. Won't be till I get back from my 3.5 week, 6K mile cross country road trip with my girlfriend aboard the K1200LT though. We leave Thursday morning!!
