08 1125R just heard a real quick grinding sound but have no idea whats causing it. its intermittent. does it in neutral with the clutch in or out and while in gear. sound more like its coming from the trans. if anyone has had this problem i would love any input.

on a good note i got the Keda RT-4 exhaust a few weeks back. by far the very best sound i have ever heard on a bike. hands down.

"Where" its coming from can be deceiving. The old school trick is to take a dowel, maybe 2 feet long, and put one end just below your ear. Place the other end at selected spots on the engine and tranny until you identify where the sound is coming from. That may help you narrow it down. Obviously this only works with the engine in neutral or bike on a stand .... Grinding noises = usually not good. Hope it's minor.

Does the '08' have the "loose startor nut issue" along with the '09's ?
