It just says Japanese engineered. Well duh 90% of "street" bikes are Japanese. So I'm sure they are engineered there but there is a factory here in the us that actually manufacture them. | ||

NOT USA made The first clue is their name. They are doing their best to fool you into thinking these are US products. (and it worked) The second clue is the use of the USA flag Any company trying that hard to wave the flag is trying to fool you Check the website, nothing says they are made in the USA, and their email address tells you they are importers (Message edited by sprintst on June 16, 2011) (Message edited by sprintst on June 16, 2011) | ||

If you look on Ebay you can see a few "real" pics of the tires including the sticker, they say made in China or Korea, its not clear enough but it clearly isn't USA. | ||

Hi Brice There are only 10 motorcycle radial tire manufacturers in the world that I am aware of. Three of those brands come from the factory we use. You will be pleased with our tires. Pete more email. seems like a nice enough guy i guess. does make me wonder where the foul up came from on the compacc website.... | ||

I believe Dunlop makes the AMA-spec DOT here in the US. | ||

Well the only American motorcycle manufacturer they list is Zero Electric bikes. They don't list Harley or a billion other smaller brands and chopper shops. | ||

Dunlop is the only one made in the USA. (and I'm not sure if that means their entire MC lineup or just select models) | ||

Apparently, the UK ones are dramatically better. It's been more than one rider I've heard suggest the US-AMA spec Dunlop is a bit of a crap tire. | ||

I only wanted to show what tires dunlop made in the US. I never even baothered to look who registered with that site. Perhaps not enough of the machine is made here to be able to register for H-D? Where are michellin pilot power 3 made anybody know? | ||

I honestly do not get all you American's and your "has to be made in the USA or i don't want it" mentality. For me if its built here in Canada and its a good product at a reasonable price sure I will buy it, but if there is a better product for close to the same price built elsewhere in the world I don't loose any sleep at night for buying it. | ||

Last one there: let me sum up my buy American mentality for you. It is about keeping people gainfully employed in this country, which equates to federal wealth, which equates to military might, which equates to the preservation of democracy. We can all find faults in this great country of ours, but name another country that has spent more money and given more lives in the protection of world wide democracy. If you don’t think it really matters than you don’t listen to the news about all the social services being cut, and teachers, firefighters, and policemen being laid off. Shipping our jobs overseas causes a proportional decrease in the domestic tax base which means less money for the federally funded programs. On the private side, when a plant closes the local businesses suffer as well, because those laid of workers can no longer afford to eat out, buy new cars, etc… And the only group that is likely to make a difference is the private consumer. The big business supply chain managers only care about their bottom line and the politicians take care of big business while they talk out the other side of their mouths. Last year the US imported $334 billion while exporting only $82 billion to China. China is getting ready to surpass the US as the world super power with a potential military head count of 10 Chinese for Every One American Soldier. To this day China does not allow its citizens to express freedom of religion, doesn’t seem to give a damn about the environment, and has instituted a culture of 18 hr-six to seven day work weeks for pennies on the dollar. If we don’t express protectionism as American Consumers, we will have to deflate our standards of living to compete with the Chinese. Good luck buying a tank of gas, let alone a new set of tires on that salary. Of course it won’t matter because you won’t have any time to ride anyway. If it really doesn’t matter to you, you are either in the continually decreasing pool of American’s who benefit from shipping jobs overseas, or ignorant to the facts. | ||
