I live right down the street, but I will be away at work the first half of June.

I shouldn't say "right down the street", about 30 minutes but a straight shot down 82 then I stay straight on 305 to Nelson.

+1 on cost and equipment needed.

I'm approx. 20-35 minutes from the track.

The cost to run is $125 if paid at least seven days in advance. After that it goes up to $150. I am running in the instructional group which includes classroom time and seven 20 minute track sessions. You must have a full race suit or a two piece with a full circumferential zipper. The race suits can be rented at the track. Full face helmets, gauntlet gloves, and boots are also required. One of the instructors is a member here and rides his 1125R while instructing.

YS: That sounds like a lot of fun but if I ran Saturday and Sunday I wouldn't have anything left to sit on or anywhere to sleep. My wife is a wonderful woman, but being gone all weekend playing with my toy while she takes care of our three kids alone would not be well received!

YS: Yes it would be very grim!
I registered on Friday and spoke with one of the Moto Series organizers. He was very friendly and informative and noted that quite a few of the instructors are running 1125R's and a couple others are on XB's. It's nice to know that our bikes are so well represented by the guys who actually use them to their potential!

Awwwwwwesssommmmme!!! If you have never done a track day on your 1125 find a track and go. You have no chance of ever fully appreciating how good this bike is at accomplishing its mission unless you run it at the track. I feel like I improved my riding skills at least 50% in one day. I used absolutely every last inch of the outside of my tires and heated them up real good. I can't get over at how good this bike really is after today! I have never had more fun in my adult life. Don't wait, find a track and go! And if you are in the area, the Moto Series group is a first class organization.

Clk92Vette,
I had hoped to introduce myself, but couldn't find you. I did find your bike.
Talked to the instructors and they had good things to say about the new riders on Buells.
I was running the SV race bike Saturday and today racing, and crashing, but we won't go there.

Ogo: Sorry to hear about your crash. I hope you are fine and your parts bill is minimal. We had about a dozen guys in the instructional group, and their was only one guy who seemed to be struggling out there. We started riding three bikes to an instructor, but by the afternoon we were down to two bikes per instructor. I was riding with a friend of mine on a dark grey SV650 and our skill levels were well matched. We were camping with a good friend of his, Aaron the instructor on the old red Kaw GPz 750, and spent the morning riding with him. In the afternoon we ran with Dave on the CBR600RR and we had to keep running into pit lane because we were running up on and getting slowed down significantly by the other groups. The final session was open and that was refreshing because we were allowed to pass others on the front and back straight so no more hot pit stops! My buddy and I were the second group off and by the second lap I passed the two SV650's ahead of me and had a few laps of fully open track. That allowed me to finally get to the last 1/16" of virgin tire on my left and right side. I didn't have any real close calls and their were no incidents in our group until the last two laps of the day. It started to rain big drops and the track was fine initially because they were evaporating immediately. Then it started coming down pretty hard as I was making a real hot pass down the front straight. I laid her into turn one, noticed one of the blue SV650's off in the grass, then experienced a pretty good sashay over a slick tar strip, and coasted the rest of my last lap. I passed another rider down at the exit of the carousel and knew I had made the right decision. I was bummed because I was really pressing hardest at that point, but had made it through the day without an ounce of damage, and knew it was time to call it quits. I can't wait to go back!!!
