Found a set of peg mounts on eBay and did some grinding and now have solid mount pegs.

Pretty painless to do.

As you can see the left side is machined in, and it is smaller than the peg, so I used a washer of the same thickness of the machined in area.

What is the advantage of a solid peg? I like mine being spring loaded.

It's a slider for crashing and can protect other bits.

I want to do that.
After $2700 in trannsmission repairs due to a bent shift rod and damaged shift drums resulting from a leftside lowside, I think it's a great mod.

It's simple, and fairly cheap to do.

The pegs I purchased from Erik Buell Racing.

*edit*
Preface this with that I was running XB pegs:

Also, another benefit is better grip than the stock pegs. TONS more on the outside edge as the stockers are smooth while these are knurled.
(I had used a dremel to cut notches in the outside edge of the stocker's, but this is still better)

OUCH. I was wondering what the final outcome on that was. This seems like it would be a pretty cheap mod to prevent that.

How's the angle -- is it square?

I had a set machined as spares myself, and I noticed that if you just mill the OEM peg mounts off and drill a hole, you end up with a peg that isn't perfectly perpendicular to the bike.

Got a solution for that?

Looks square to me.

I kept the angle that was on the brackets, not taking them to flat. You can see it in the pictures.
The Right side one is sitting on a large angle in relation to the rest of the mount.

All I did was use a 4.5" angle grinder and did the dirty business.
Are they perfect....no, probably not, but they are close enough that I don't forsee any issues.

Weight -
Nope, didn't measure, but I would agree that they have to be lighter, no spring, no mounting 'ears', and the pegs are light also.

Pegs were great this weekend.
I had a race in the rain and no issues with grip, exactly what I was hoping for.

I'm impressed. Hand done with a die-grinder??? you're good.
From the pix, it looks like you milled them, then hit them with a wire cup.

I like your "new angle" race shots too. nice.
