I just installed these tires front and rear paying close attention to the rotation marker on the sidewall. The arrow points in the direction of normal rotation, correct? Well seems the tread pattern on the front tire is opposite from the back tire. Seems the front tire as installed will channel water to the center of the tire. Anyone else notice this?

Take a look at the PR3 front. Its even more dramatic but I can tell you for certain that both do well in the rain.

yes I just put 2cts on and thought the same thing about front tread. 300 miles on them now and they are just starting to feel good. I noticed the tread difference too, seems counter intuitive. I gave up & just figured 'they' know best.

you want to shed water on the front when braking and the rear on acceleration. thats why their opposite. thats how it was explained to me once

Well, that's good to know. I've never seen this before were the front and rear tread patterns are reversed. Glad I don't have to remove the front tire and turn it around.

If you think about the work the tires do it makes sense. Front tire needs grip for braking and sideways traction. Rear tire needs traction for drive and sideways traction.

Look at the pics here, the Dunlop GP-A's are the same way.
