Not sure it it's been posted before but I'll ask any ways. Who has removed there charcoal canister and stuff and what did you do for the lines and hoses going to and from the canister. And another question what is with the rubber hose that goes from the right side of the throttle bodies to the bottom of the airbox?

It doesn't weigh much, it's not really in the way, and removing it doesn't add horse power...mines still under the seat, so...I guess I'm not qualified to answer your question.
Plus..your "there"..should actually be "their".

people actually ADD a canister to avoid smelling gasoline fumes and dripping fuel from the tank/frame vent when a warmed up and hot bike is turned off

no reason to remove

Can I ask why you're considering reoving it... and as a follow up - Can I have it if you do ; )

It really does help with the fuel "drip" and smell that you;ll get without it...

Mine is bad enough that I can't park it in the garage for a good hour after a ride otherwise the whole house smells of gas.

That and the fact that it looks like a dog keeps cocking its leg on the swigarm... LOL

I do recall soemone fitted an inline filter (from a fish tank) with gause in and some small charcoal slivers... But basically that's just replacing the big canister with a smaller one..

Last year I had requested the charcoal canister kit. I got an authorization number from HD customer service and gave it to the dealer to order the parts for me. The dealer never followed up and I just let it go. I took my bike (2009 R) in last week for the dreaded stator failure and asked them to check on the canister again. They called me today and said that HD no longer authorized this repair as there had been some issues with excess fuel accumulation in the canister. Anyone else heard this?

No....but my bike stunk like gas after a ride. I took it in, and there was a recall on it -- fuel exhaust line reroute.

It doesn't stink anymore.

What? There is a recall on the canister? My bike doesn't leak fuel but damn it stinks!

If it hadn't of been for my getting HD to pay for the canister and install on my 49-state '09R, there's no way I could have kept the bike in the garage. My daughter's bedroom is over the garage ... You could almost chew the scent of fuel.

I have never had a "stinking" problem with Loretta.
After the fuel-line re-route, I noticed her peeing on the floor periodically.
I routed back to the original location, shortening the line by half and no peeing since.

No carbon canister for me, I have a spare belt and a brother's ashes in that spot.

Yeah, it pisses on the ground now. But it doesn't stink.

YMMV

Jezebel doesn't stink.
Am I missing something? Am I being left out?
