Im looking at adding a bike to my stable this summer. The daytona seems like a good fit. I read the shootout results and it came in last. Idk why but I really like the looks and would like to test ride one. Anyone have any experience on a daytona. You can buy one new for 7300.00 two year warranty. | ||

I bought an 06 when the first came out.I can honestly say that it's not a bike for those who like comfort.It's very track oriented,very fast and nimble and has a great exhaust note from the triple. If you are like me and want different like the 1125's,buy one. I'm not sure where you get your pricing from but 7,300 is a few thousand short of the selling price,I beleive the MSRP is 10,899 on the 2011's | ||

motorcycle-usa just reviewed the new one (2011) - interesting sidebar in the article that you may find useful: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/253/9662/Motorcycle- Article/2011-Triumph-Daytona-675R-First-Ride.aspx a friend and I both have SV650s we use for Canyon and track days - the I4s eat the SVs for lunch on the straights - he bought a daytona to battle this short coming - faster but still not quite fast enough - most of the guys swear by the Gixxer 750...I bought the 1125r for the handling and torque (i'm too old to keep stirring the gear shift to get going) Sport Rider also built one for AMA racing...but I never followed up on the outcome - bottom line-the bike is not too Ergo friendly - you won't ride a bike you don't fit- good luck | ||

Big drawback for Daytona IMHO is relatively expensive parts. Compared to the Gixxer or even the Buell, parts are harder to come by on ebay and by other discount sources. Dang sweet bike otherwise, though. | ||

Its hard to find a bike in the same class as a 1125r. I already have a buell. I want something else. What is available in the same class? | ||

Why do you want another similar bike? I'd take the opportunity and get something on the other end of the spectrum, like a Ulysses, or a Ural. | ||

Why do you want another similar bike? I have two R's. One street. One track. I was this close to buying a used 2009 or 2010 (can't remember) Triumph Daytona for the track for $6,000 off ebay, but decided to go with the new 1125R during the fire sale. I just like having the same feeling going between the two bikes. I believe it would take me half a track day to get used to the Triumph after riding the Buell on the street. Besides the Helicon motor isn't a bad one to have to constantly be flogging  | ||

> super motard Eh, Novelty bike. Unless you have a Kart track local, they aren't all that great. They wind out too soon to commute on if you do any highway speed travel, they are uncomfortable as all get out, and on a full length road coarse they get boring for several long bits. They don't have the fuel range to ride in the canyons and are rather a beating in the wind anyway. I've got one. It's fun to take out when I'm coaching some level 1 guys or something, but it's really a novelty bike. | ||

Street tripple is for grls  Thats what my girlfriend wants. That or a Duck Monster (both girlie). If anything i would take the Speed Tripple 1050. That is a sweet machine (used to have a Daytona 955 and loved it). As for the Daytona 675 you should really take a test ride on it. I did and at every slight bump on the street i would hit my cojones on the tank. Not too comfy. As pretty a bike as can be though. If you want smth similar then Speed Triple 1050 (both ST and 1125 have grunt, sound good, look badass and are nimble. When i first took the SpeedTriple for a test ride it was completely effortless, i looked where i wanted to go and the bike went there). Personally id go for smth different, since you have two Rs. Hypermotard maybe ? A lot of fun in the twisties and in the city. (Except for those retarded mirrors,...cant lane split worth a damn with those on) | ||

Curve carver, what qualities are you looking for in another bike? You ask what's in the same class but you also say no sense in having two of the same. That's kinda close opposite thoughts. Personally my two main riders are the 1125 and a naked-ized Suzuki V-Strom 650. Love them both, different moods for each when I ride. "Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't"....(old enough to remember that jingle?) | ||

It has class leading torque and plenty of revs. Buy one,get some heli-bars and you will love this bike. | ||

I rode my brothers zx6r tonight and boy the 1125r and z are two way different rides. I can honestly say the zx6r is a smooth machine. A great commuting bike. It was amazingly smooth. I hopped on my r and grinned at the low end torque but as I floored the r it lacked topend. It give me so many mixed feelings between the two different monsters. I encourage people to ride with a 600 and switch off. I am still very confused. I would love to ride a 675 then switch off. | ||

One of my customers has a 2wd Ural... I hate him.  I think I have the perfect set-up tho - 2008 1125R, Loretta, 26k miles 2009 1204 Ulysses, Bluenose, 22k miles(got her with 12k miles May 2010). It was 70 today and I was at work... | ||

I had a xb and wasn't impressed with the handling or The power. I can honestly say the 1125r is alone a better handler than the xb bikes. |
