How can you tell if a stock 1125 muffler has a catalyst or not? I'm going to order some intake stacks from Twin Motorcycles and I want to be sure I get the proper ecm flash. The Erik Buell Racing site has modules for both mufflers available so I'm assuming bikes were shipped with one or the other depending on destination.

Word here, from a supposed ex-elf was - 2008 had cat models for Europe and Cali, non-cats for 49 state.
2009+, ALL had cats. Look for a Stainless collector merge-pipe.

Dunno, I got an 08 with no cat...

My 09 has a stainless collector with an (N) stamped in the center of it. So does that mean no cat? or non Cal.?

I don't believe all 2009's have cats. Can't D_adams answer this question? Surely he has cut up a few 2009 mufflers.

I don't think this is the case as I pulled my 2009 and it was absent.

Thanks Harlan, I didn't know if that were true or not.
I've only seen mine inside...

California bikes have cats, if you have a US bike that came with a cali can, then you have a cat converter, all european bikes have cats.
