Keith, I don't think this keychain will be structurally sound...you took to much material out between the Pegasus wings. |

That is one sweet key chain. I can imagine how those wings would dig into my pockets and refuse to let go of my keys. |

I agree with loveda on this. Here's my analysis, as read by the Simpsons' comic book guy. I scribbled the calcs and FBD out on some note paper when I was in Hong Kong getting levers, but my dog ate them. The calcs for load on the key hole showed right near 2,000 N acting in-plane upon the key ring, 1,000 Ns at each Pegasus point. That was for a GVWR 1g stop, key chain fully loaded, no load due to bump in road or the like. So you have 1,000 Ns of shear across any section of the key chain combined with quite a bit of whining, a maximum of around 5,000 Db of it. Add to that the fatigue requirement and it's easy to see why all key chains are either solid beam or very well-trussed type designs. You just don't see any with big gaping holes as we've seen here. They break. |

They break. grow the f up. it has no place in this thread. if you dont like what blake(or anyone else for that matter) has to say, then take it up with them. why hide out in a thread where it may never be seen by the people it is intended for? send them a pm, give them a call. whatever floats your boat. ive done/made/said plenty of things that people on here have gotten all worked up about. i dont care. i apparently have thicker skin then many these days it seems. if you post something, expect views that oppose yours. if you cant handle that, dont post it. its also possable to politely decline to give a rats ass what someone else thinks. its your life. do what you want with it. and its your perogative to get pissed when someone may actually care if what your doing may kill you. tell them you dont want to hear it anymore and politely ask them to stop since there opinion has already been voiced. plenty of stuff ive done/do should have killed me. i dont expect anyone to be happy with that exept me. and i sure dont expect anyone to feel sorry for me if the inevitable happens. anyway, back to the point of this thread, im still wondering if this was cut out by hand or machine? You're right, no_rice. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm going to take a picture of myself giving the camera the finger while steering my motorcycle with my feet on a public road. Then, I'm going to choose an anti-semantic moniker. Any other advice as I go through my changes? |

and there we go. see you have stated your opinion, and well. thats just fantastic you go boy!!! and i as always can gladly not care i did learn something new today though. i have discovered that not liking my bike to be referred to as a rice rocket is anti-semantic. sweet. and again, what does this have to do with the original thread? |
