1125R Service manual

New to this board. I own a 1125R manufactured in 2008 and love it... I managed to find a 2009 service manual on Rapidshare.

Does anyone know if there are any major differences between the 2008 & 2009 models?

For anyone else who would like the manual... try the following link...

Link removed. Please don't post links to pirated service manuals. Thank you. : )

Rapidshare is a file hosting service. I downloaded the .zip file with the free download option. No need to join or pay anything... Just have to wait 60 secs with the free download option.

A couple thoughts.

First of all ..... That's stealing. Pure and simple..

Second, if you are in sure dire straits that you can't afford to buy a service manual you'd be I'll advised to be buying or messing with a $10,000 motorcycle. Personally I like to buy and study the manual before buying.

Lastly ... I'm well aware that at this point Harley Davidson is not defending Buell intellectual property but I do want to make certain they are made aware of this just to showcase the fact that they are NO pursuing folks using Buell intellectual property.

By the way . . If rapidshare is selling. It . . They have a whole new set of problems,

Looks like it's free to me. You have to pay for faster downloads. At this point I couldn't give a shit less what Harley thinks. JMHO.

I agree 100%. It's stealing plain and simple.

Makes me think of the time I was trying to sell A Sportster that was a year old. Mint plus plenty of chrome added. Had a buyer coming in two days with 8,000 bucks. Then HD decides to have a blow out and sells them new for less than that out the door. Guy refuses the title to mine that he's suppose to pick up. Takes his check back, and goes to the dealer.

Or yeah, this one is real funny, like the time my $10,000+ 08 1125R went from retaining some value to being worth less than 5 grand overnight. The bike wasn't even a year old when that happened. I still owe quite a bit more on it than what it's worth.

Yeah it's stealing. And if we were talking about Erik Buell Racing then my feelings would be different. But HD can suck it. Download those things while the link works boys.

Court, Rapidshare is legitimate. They are a file hosting site, people upload files to them so others can download them. Obviously this costs them money, so they make it up with advertisements and paid memberships for more features and faster speeds. Rapidshare itself didn't put the file on there, someone else did. Think of it as Photobucket but for large files.

So if you don't like the person you're stealing from or just plain don't get caught, stealing is OK? Oh, I get it now. What was I thinking? I need to be taking notes here on who NOT to do business with. Sheesh. What a bunch.

Stop being cheap and unethical and pay for it like you should. Flame away at those of us with a conscience.

Rapidshare is illegal, just like torrents, limewire, etc...

ISP's track usage of sites like rapidshare, if you use it a lot, they will report you to the FBI.

SOMEbody worked hard to put out those books.

Chances are, it was a room full of Elves, many of whom I know personally (and so do a lot of folks here on Badweb).

But you're right. Go ahead. Take from them for free. I'm sure they don't mind, seeing the fruit of their labor devalued COMPLETELY. I mean, c'mon...$60 is too much for the Bible on how to disassemble and properly reassemble your motorcycle? Less than one hour of shop labor covers you forEVER...but that's not good enough.

Shame.

And yes, I have BOUGHT a manual for every Buell in my garage.

I never said it was ok. Never said anything of the sort. As a matter of fact I said it was stealing, and thus by definition wrong. Regardless of whom you're stealing from. I just said that since it was HD instead of Erik Buell Racing I didn't give a crap. And I don't.

And I own one that I bought. So I wouldn't call myself cheap. That freaking thing was expensive. As far as unethical, well God will do the judging thank you.

As far as writing things down goes, you ought to try harder to read what someone said before you start calling them BS names. It works much better than reading things INTO what they said.

Last time I checked, Rapidshare, Torrents, and Limewire were all perfectly legitimate. Yea, you can use all the above for distributing pirated content, but they do have significant legitimate use. I have a few torrents running on my server right now, one is the Ultimate Boot CD, a couple episodes of a free online show Pure Pwnage, the Mechwarrior Living Legends mod, Portal speed run HD video, and my largest torrent is a 650GB archive of most of the Geocities websites.

Blizard Entertainment uses Bittorrent for distributing the latest updates and expansion packs for World of Warcraft. In fact, nothing currently can beat a torrent for mass distribution.

My point is, saying that P2P software and protocols are illegal because some use it for bad is like saying guns, knives, motorcycles, (insert favorite object), are bad/illegal because some people use them for dangerous or illegal things. : )

Also, I have never heard of anyone being reported to the FBI for using Rapidshare. Do you have more information or a link about that?

"I'm sure they don't mind, seeing the fruit of their labor devalued COMPLETELY."

You think the people that made the service manual get paid every time on is sold? They got paid by harley to make the manual, then harley makes money each time one is sold. I bought my manual, but don't say that we should buy it because it supports the guys that made it, because all buell property belongs to harley. So when someone buys a buell service manual the money goes to harley.

There was a bunch of minor changes between the two years, nothing I would worry about with your service manual except the forks. They changed the forks between both years so the oil levels may be different. I don't have both an 08 and 09 book side by side to compare for you though.

I bought an 09 manual when I got my 1st o8. It figures that there are a bunch of manuals out there now but there weren't then. But most things translate well, and most parts the same. Some are obvious (stator, clutch cover, IC, etc.) but you can certainly get the general idea and make it work. I also found a new, in the plastic x1 manual and one for the Mrs.' XB.

Maybe I'm missing something here...

We have copies of both 2008 and 2009 manuals here on BadWeb. They are handy for quick reference - thanks for having this resource available. (Like many others, I am comfortable with analog media and buy hardcopies of manuals for all my vehicles, but that's just me).

i didn't figure it would last long.
glad to see the frogman in action again.

this thread has really gained momentum, and the words have sharpened.

UK_bueller,
in spite of all the comotion, i'd like to extend a warm welcome to the badwebz from across the pond.
i can only believe you had teh best of intentions to help others and not to start what those same persons which you were trying to help have turned this into.

so are you saying you have a diamond-blue framed 1125? or is it phantom-black?
the next years model production starts (or should i say started) before the new year, so the sticker on the frame doesn't define the production year. technically speaking

I have to have the paper copies, out in the garage, oil spots on the pages and fingerprints. Electronic versions just done seem right. It also helps to have it bound. Otherwise I have individual chapters all over the place. Not a lot of money to be able to feel comfortable.

My point about devalued?

SOMEbody put time and effort into it. Probably an Elf.

Do they see a residual? Nope.

Do they feel a tug when something they worked hard to produce is worth nothing to somebody? (and that 'somebody' can be the someone who uploads it in the first place, figuring they'd "share"...or it can be the countless folks who figure $60 is "too much" for the wealth of information)

I guarantee they feel a tug, and probably a little frustration. How would you feel, if you'd been one of the ones to write it?

It's not about $ here. It's about pride, and respect.

At least, it is for me.

I was told that isp's track torrent sites and rapishare sites, if you download a lot from them, and download over a certain gb number, you will be reported to the FBI.

Rapidshare is mostly illegal and copyrighted files. There is a good chance if someone is frequently downloading from rapidshare that they are downloading illegal and copyrighted material.

Hello All,

Firstly, may I apologise to anyone who I may have offended by posting a link for the 1125R service manual. It was certainly not my intention to upset or offend.

My first port of call for a service manual was the Buell website and tho’ there is a cut down ‘owners support’ section, I could see no reference to a full service manual or a ‘contact us’ for enquiries.
I then tried Harley UK who seemed disinterested, and suggested ‘the web’ where I found your good selves – Bad Weather Bikers.

On performing a search on BWB, I found several Buell manuals on previous postings e.g. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/427324.html#POST1349092 which provides a link to gigaboogie.com for the full Service Manual for the 2005 Buell Firebolt, in PDF format – incidentally – the link is still there and not much sign of rebuke regarding copyright and stealing in the responses as there have been to this.

I surfed around Google for some time and finally found a link for the 2009 1125R manual. Weary from all the surfing and given there were previous postings for Service Manuals on BWB, example above and after a number of Buds, I thought I would share my find with others not really considering Copyright.

If I could make a copyright contribution to Mr Buell, then I gladly would for his marvellous creation that is the 1125R. Shame Harley pulled the plug as I’m constantly asked ‘where can I get one’.
I wish Mr. Buell and all Buell owners only the very best and again apologise for any offence.
