Hey Guys,

I just got done rebuilding the clutch due to it weeping. Now the clutch is dragging, I have bled the line and am not getting any air, but just in case I have tied the lever back and am going to let it sit overnight.

Anybody have any ideas on why the clutch may be dragging? I didn't seem to have any issues during the rebuild until now.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Had same issue with mine when I did the clutch fix. Finally got it right by bleeding, bleeding and bleeding some more. Took forever but we got it.

Well I ripped the clutch apart and everything looked good, so I put it all back together and bled it really good.

It seemed like it was still dragging so I was thinking that since it was cold maybe the oil was so thick that it was causing the clutch plates to drag. So I warmed up the bike and and everything seems great.

So here is a question for anyone that may know, being that the 1125 has the vacuum slipper do you need to have the bike running to produce vacuum that the clutch needs to fully release?

No. It only works on deceleration from higher rpm's. Clutch action to disengage via the lever is constant based on the master and slave cylinder only. If there's air in it, it might not disengage properly. Dragging is typically from the oil being thick or air in the line.

My 08 clutch has always dragged a little before I start the engine. Once running, it is fine. It did this before and after the clutch slave cylinder and cover upgrade. I have to put it in neutral to push it without the motor running.

pmjolly, that sounds exactly how mine is. I probably just didn't notice it since I haven't even had the bike for 1k miles.

Makes me feel better now though.

Thanks guys!
