Finally got enough riding in to wear out the Corse III's so I went back to my tried and true Pilot Powers. What a difference!
Granted the Corsa's were worn and new tires are always going to feel better but the Pilots really work great on this bike!

Did you go with the P2? I was thinking about these tires when I wear out my Corsa

Nope, I run the original Pilot Powers. I've run them on all three Buell chassis and they really work great and last.
I bought mine earlier this year, waiting for the Corsa III's to wear out, got them here...

Does anyone know what kind of mileage the pilot powers get?
I am running a pilot road 2 rear tire, and it has held up well so far, but if the powers get decent mileage, i wouldn't mind the extra grip.

I do mostly crazy sick Kamikaze runs of 180mi average and the necessary get in line stuff. My stock corsa tires got thru to wire in the center at just over 4000mi.
I changed to Michelin PP (2CT though) and I'm near 11,000 and am looking for a new set soon. I'm not looking for any other tire than whats on it right now, they're damn good.

I'd say at least 20-30% better than the C3's with the 2ct. Great tire for this bike.

I don't know how you guys do it. My Corsa held up 1700 miles. Switched to the Angel now and hope it will last a little longer. It is definitely not as sticky as the corsa though, which also helps riding a little more carefully :-) If I get 4k out of it, I'm happy.

I have a set of power pures, on my R and love them. Wish they came on the bike new!
There the newest series of pilot powers.

I'm pretty sure Jakewilson.com is cheaper for the PPs. Sportbiketrackgear's price--$225 for a set--ain't all that great.

WOW, that's cheap!
I'd never heard of Jake Wilson until I saw some ads during programming on SPEED this year. I'll have to check them out in the future.
I've had GREAT service from SportBike TrackGear and I really like their youtube product review videos.
Thanks for the heads-up though.

Hmmm... Jake Wilson's will also FedEx to Australia for $65 or so... : )

Anybody tried any of the Continentals on an 1125? I had been thinking of Pilot Powers (2CT's or Pure's), or the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa's which appear to be getting great write ups... or Bridgey BT016's (I loved the BT014's).

I've got almost 4,000 miles on the original tires and the rear is starting to get a little thin on tread.

i have the power pures on my CR. love them for the grip and good wear, i run them at 36 Front 38 rear, seems to turn a lot better at those pressures. i asked michelin, and they suggested 34/36 but i found it hard to get the bike over at those pressures

corsa 3 only lasted me 3k miles, and are awful. didnt like them at all.

Pilot Power 2CT's for me. Original Corsa (rear at least) gone at 2,100 miles ... Have about 1,200 on the PP's and they look great. Took me a bit to get used to them, but once I started throwing it into corners, I found out they do stick like glue. Couldn't beat the JW prices either, delivered right to my door.

Lemonchili_x1 -- I've been running the BT-016's since last year, average is 6500 miles out of the rear tire, a little more on the front. I'm pretty sure I could get even more if I weren't commuting so much with it. I still have the set I mounted right before Homecoming on the bike, I think I'm at about 6500 miles right now and it's still got some left, although it's pretty squared off now from all the slab time.

This was taken between 5000 and 5500 miles.

Dean,

Do you mount your own tires? I have heard the Bridgestones are a bugger to mount due to the stiffness of the sidewalls.

Yeah, they're a little tougher than most, but they'll go on. Just make sure to use the lube for it and it's fine.
I've got a no-mar changer classic that I use at home, although it's portable enough with the trailer hitch mount.

No they are easy to mount never had a problem I've been using BT002s and 003s and as Dean suggested the 016s are working great and I mounted them all with no problem.

Cool, thanks Dean : ) I had BT-014's on the X1 and *loved* them - relatively fast direction changes but stable, and heaps of feedback from the front tyre, very "talkative", to me anyway. The "feel" really seemed to suit my riding style. They had more grip than I ever need too, but I think all the current sports tyres do.
From what I hear the BT-016's are more of the same, but last a bit longer, so I'll check local prices, but I doubt anyone will come close to Jake Wilson's price including the shipping.
