Cut up XB pan.

I really like the sound of the HMF. And with the ECM tuned for it, it's quite a difference.

So I have to ask... are you racing that bike? If not, I don't get adding the extra weight of the bellypan... unless you're filling in for the space of the stock pipe. This is the reason I kept the stock setup. Aftermarket pipes leave the bike ugly and are overpriced for the HP gain IMO.

Yeah we're racing. I like the looks of the bike without the pan just fine, but needed something that will hold fluid. But hated the look of the 1125r pan. I really like the looks of the lower from catalyst racing but, wanted to support Erik Buell Racing as much as I can. So after talking to Smoke a bit and looking at his setup, I went with this. Same reason I went with the HMF over the Barkers.

Blower, it does look good with that "RACE USE ONLY" stamped on the side. Too bad I had to cover it back up!

Stock pipe, 21.5 lbs, HMF, 7.5 lbs. Belly pan, 2 lbs? More than a 10 lb loss or a potential 2 hp gain from the weight loss. I think the rule was either 4 or 5 lbs drop in weight equals 1 hp gained. Now, add on a 10+ hp gain from the pipe and even though there's empty space there, you've gained a LOT of power over a stock 1125. It's definitely enough to win races at the club level. Every advantage you can scratch out may be what makes the difference between winning and losing.

If you're just street riding, then yeah, it probably won't mean a lot for the weight loss or power gains. The belly pan is a negligible addition in the overall scheme of things. Personally, I LIKE having MOAR POWAR!

looks great. I'm racing my CR and was considering the same setup or the keda rt3 for next year. Have you had it on the track yet? Its hard to tell by pics but i was concerned with the pipe scraping since it looks like its sticking out. Pretty substantial difference in performance huh? .Cool...pump gas or race gas ecm?

Pump gas ECM. And yes, it is a noticeable difference. I don't know what it's making compared to the Barkers or the Keda, because as far as I know, it wasn't in the shoot out and I don't know anyone that's had it on the Dyno, but the bike was already faster than I will be so I went with this one because Erik sells it and has a tune for it.

I was going to Road Race CCS this year, but took it out to the Drag Strip this weekend, and am just obsessed with getting this thing into the 9's now. So I won't be Road Racing. I think setup and consistency is going to be super important though, the bike stupid hard to control on a Drag Strip. At least with stock suspension settings it is. The rear wants to spin and when it catches, you're looking at the sky.

But as far as clearance goes you're pegs are going to scrape before that can does.

the 9's? what are you running now and what do you weigh? I cant get into the 10's with my CR but thats just because i cant keep the front down. 11.05 at 124 is my best time. I'm 260lbs in gear. I know drag racing can be addictive, but I found the road courses even more addicting- thanks for the info

I weigh about 180 with gear. 9's are completely possible.

This guy hasn't even shot the NOS to it. The bike will do it. From what I read in the Drag section, it's all about the driver and consistency.

Wanna see the power difference in a stock 1125 and one with exhaust and ECM?

Watch this video, don't blink at the 8:11 mark, that's a stock 1125 that I blast heading up the hill at Road America and he dosn't stand a chance.

Littlebutquick ran into the 9s at stock wheelbase. Granted-he is an AMAZING rider , and small in size- but he proved an 1125r will run nines with a pipe, tune and a good rider. Don't want to take anything away from him though. He is extremely skilled at it. Anyone thinking Dragracing is just "twist and go" would likely be shocked at how slow they are...
But yea, Budgolf- consistency gets the trophy.

It's a GoPro HD. With some work to the mount it takes good video.

You can also see me power past a Ducati 999 at 5:38.

Neat, clean, functional - very nice. And great job supporting the Erik Buell Racing boys.

I noticed your ECM looks different than mine, must be cause your's is tuned for that pipe. (um, j/k)
