Which handles better, quicker in transition, and lean? Expected life average, and foul weather suitability if caught in a rain?

Bueller4ever - is that you? Pretty impressive. If so, you are way maxed out on front fork travel. Probably good to dial in a bit more preload as there is no room for any more suspension travel if a bump is encountered at max lean.

I've ridden both tires, but not on the same bike so I can't really give an opinion of which is better. I would say whichever you can get a better deal on as they are quite close in performance. Tires this sticky are very close in wear. If you are over 200 pounds and ride aggressively then don't expect more than 3,000 miles out of either.

Here is a Ultimate Motorcycling magazine test of the Q2 against other comparable supersport tires (note - 2.16 MB download): http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/gallery/2010_08/ul timate/UMC_Tire%20Test_Aug10.pdf

The Q2 had the fastest lap time of the test and the best subjective scores. I'm currently running the Q2s on the 1125R and love them. I plan on running them at the track next month since they're so cheap. I looked it up on the WERA racing forums and a couple people said that local hot shoes had used them to post incredible lap times and that's what convinced me.

Sportbiketrackgear.com still has a deal for the Q2s in 120/180 for $209.95 shipped: http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no =7780

If you zoom in, it looks like he has a zip tie on the front fork, so he's aware of how much travel he has left. It looks like he has at least 10mm after the zip tie.

Yeah, I'm sure the guy that can ride like that knows about his suspension. At least, I hope!

I have about 100 miles on Dunlop Q2s and they're awesome. I bought them based on past experience with both brands (not the exact same "model") along with input / data provided by jng1226 and a great deal at the time. They stick like glue so far in 50 degree weather. There was a good point made also about the Michelins and the center tread tracking cracks in the pavement. None of that with the Dunlops. I have experienced that with the Michelins.

Running the mic Pure powers got 5k ish hard mountain miles out of them(one track day). they stick like glue and even in water.
They wear even front and rear the same time.
Dunlop q2's seems to be a great tire also not sure you could go wrong with any of the mentioned above.
If you super slabbed i would look more a Roadsmart's my XB sure loves them 10k rear replaced front looks like it will last till this rear is done

I'm with Rt_performance here... depends how you ride. If you ride like the bike is supposed to be ridden, go with the Q2s, 2CTs, or Corsa IIIs from Erik Buell Racing for $100/tire.
If you ride for pure mileage, I have no input, go with the higher mileage tires and don't waste your money on the performance tires.

Got a chance to ride the Q2s in rain and hail at the tail end of my commute the other day. No slippage, gave it an extra "goose" on the straight as a test.

Barker, email Erik Buell Racing. I emailed them after I already ordered a set of Q2s. I would have bought just a rear if I knew that. That is the price I got for picking a rear up at the shop. They indicated like new or take offs. Those Corsa III's are ridiculously expensive everywhere I looked online.

Frontline, I would stay away from a 190 on the stock rim. I did that on my track bike once and it "wraps" the outer tire around such that the contact patch isn't optimal.

If someone gave me a set of Corsa IIIs for free, I'd still buy 2cts. Not because I have cash to blow, but because the 2cts really are that much better.

Not a chance. You might get me to admit they are at relative parity, but the 2CT is not worlds better than the Corsa III, it just flops into corners quickly, which a lot of guys like, but isn't necessarily a good thing.

For what it's worth, both the Corsa III and 2CT are discontinued tires, so when the back stock is gone... well, you are on to a new tire.

The new Pure doesn't have the aggressive triangular profile of the 2CT.

I'm not commenting on outright grip (though I could spin the Corsas with a bit of extra throttle while cornering whereas the 2cts won't under the same circumstances) but flickability and ease of turning is so much better with the 2cts. Now maybe laptimes would be comparable on both tires but I'd wager that the 2cts would be easier to ride.

Maybe I should buy a few sets of 2cts so I'm not stuck trying to find a replacement tire.
