I'm running Redline 20W-50 M/C for about 600 miles and I'm noticing in the past 60 miles or so that neutral has been just slightly harder to find and the shifts feel a little notchy. The temperature has also dropped about 10-15 degrees during this time period but I just can't see that making a big difference. It is still in the 70s and I warm up a little before taking off. I'm thinking it *may* be oil related. Anyone else notice this with RL? | ||

When I started running Redline I left Syn3 for RL 10W-40 for Winter riding. I switched to 20W-50 for the Summer last year. Went back to 10W-40 that Fall and have kept it with 10W-40 ever since. I really like how she runs with the lighter oil, shifting is practically effortless. Neutral is tricky when cold only. HUGE contrast to riding/shifting the Uly, which feels like a tractor transmission. Z | ||

Running 20W50 in both the XB (street) and 1125R (track). More engine noise in the XB, but no changes in shifting for either (especially the XB, which uses tranny oil). JM | ||

I spoke with Dave at Redline today and it looks like I *may* be running something slightly thinner than their 20W-50 M/C next year. |
