So I had <redacted> HD perform the charging system recall a few weeks ago and was just going over the bike when I found this loose plug:

Which I'm guessing is a diagnostic port of some kind.

Would someone please tell me the correct routing and placement for this plug? Looks like there's a retaining snap on it but I'm not sure where it plugs into.

Thanks,
Nels

Should be attached to the back of the pod.

Above and in front of the ECM under the pod iirc.

Just stuff it back into the V of the motor, it will sit there just fine. Mine's been like that for probably 12000 miles and hasn't gone anywhere yet.

All,

Thanks for the quick replies! Found a hole on the backside of the pod not far from where she was hanging and plugged her in. I probably would have found it if I was looking but you know what they say about plugging into unknown holes... : )

I didn't think it was hurting anything just hanging there, was just kinda annoying.

Thanks again,
Nels

Yeah, I found that dangling after a visit to the dealer. I also stuffed it behind the pod...

They broke my clip, also had to stuff it behind the plastic pod cover...

I bet many of us have stumbled across that plug. I can plug mine back into its spot behind the pod, and I'll eventually see it again ...

Bobb61 - what the hell are you saying? (Your advice is good, but maybe in a different context).

Seems to me that thing falls out on its own. Not very secure. Last week, My dealer actually put it back after the harness upgrade (I had it hanging) if you can believe that!

Looks at it yesterday and its hanging down again. I think it just works itself free in some cases.
