Last week clutch was a little "squinky," loud clicking on the upshift and acting "stally" like she did before my last ECM. I ignored it and passed it off as cheap gas (I only run 93 oct)but it was from a BP (yep, the oil spillers). This morning I was all set to ride to work and couldn't get her to stop stalling in 1st gear from neutral. Also, when I did get her not to stall in 1st, she leaped forward. Not sure if ECM or clutch? Any thoughts?

Sorry, didn't see the Juicer's thread. Mine is about 4800 miles, ECM need?

Might want to check and see if the clutch fluid is low. I'm sure you know the history with the leaky clutch slave if not updated with new design parts.

@Chevy, do they do the parts with the ECM or is that $$?

Does it still have good clutch feel or is it gone? Date and mileage since your last oil chnage? Type of oil?

Btw, the ecm and clutch are totally unrelated, the only real connection would be the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) that picks up from the clutch/output shaft.

Sounds like the clutch is not releasing all the way, I had mine repaired under warranty at no cost to me. I doubt that it has anything to do with the ecm.

First thing to do is look in the clutch fluid sight glass and verify there's fluid in it.

Always start with the simple/ free checks first.

@D: clutch feel is good. Overdue for 4000 service (yes I know, bad girl)so hoping maybe as simple as clutch fluid as Chevy indicated (fingers are crossed). Scheduling her today. Found interesting to see others with same experience >4000 miles who are up to date on service. If ECM and clutch are not related, how come the 2nd ECM I got fixed the "jerking" problem in low gears? Not being facetious, just curious if they are in fact not interrelated?

When they put the 2nd ecm in they probably also put in the most current calibration that helped smooth it out.

The jerking you were feeling before was due to low rpm fueling issues, so the engine ran rough.

@Badlions, first thing I did was make sure the kickstand was up, lol. It was acting like it does when I twice have forgetten to put it up. So it doesn't sound serious, maybe very simple, relieved. I just called to get her in and I'll post the outcome for those interested. Stock 1125R at the Harley Drags on 1/4 mile did 11.6 sec, Average 10.8-11.3. Track was sticky, could've done better I think.

You've lost me, when did I refer to the kickstand?

You should pop off the clutch cover puck and verify it's not leaking. It's easy to remove, just be careful not to scratch the clutch cover when prying with a screw driver.

Your dealer is not going to look for the leak, so you must be proactive.

@Badlions, was poking fun at myself. You commented, "Always start with the simple/ free checks first." I have forgotten the kickstand twice and she stalls as soon as I try to move. HD is getting her in next Wed so "girl down" for a week...bummer.
Have a great weekend guys, I'll be on 4 wheels

Try full synthetic oil to reduce the clunk or jerk when putting it into 1st gear and a race ECM to smooth out the fueling. Need more power? Add one of the top pipes from the shootout for about 17 hp or so over stock. It might net you about .5 second lower time in the quarter mile.
