Well everyone I have an issue...

Yesterday i was about to head out, i started the bike just like normal, no issues. Then as soon as i turned the handle bars the thing DIED, no lights, the gauges ARE on, and it will NOT turn over. So then I turned it back to full lock and it starts right up, then i turn the handle bars and it shuts off again. So i leave the key on and move the bars somemore and i can hear a clicking coming from the BACK fuses by on the right hand (while on bike) side by the battery and it clicks everytime it hits the "sweet spot" and the lights and fuel pump proceed to turn on and go off with each click (only once per time it hit the spot).

So then i start movin the wire coming out of the ignition switch (where key is in) and i can hear the same clicks. so now i know -think i know- where the problem is, and that is in the "ignition switch body" -per manual-, where the bottom section of the switch plugs into it from the harness. however the issue only occurs at the base of the igntion, NOT where the ignition plugs into the harness itself.

My question is, can i get just the "ignition body" or do i have to get an ENTIRE new ignition and key (which i dont want cause then id have to switch out the "trunk" lock to match the key. unless it comes with ignition?)

Also could i please get the part number for the body, and if i cannot get just the body could i have the part number for the ignition and trunk lock too?

any comments that may help the situation are very welcome!

THANK YOU!!
Jake

I had a similar issue, and the entire ignition and key needed to be replaced. Of course the trunk lock and gas cap had to be changed as well.

Mine did that twice - I re-soldered the wires on the back of the switch.
Switch is held on with security Allens.
