My bike was stolen out of my garage last night.

I'll provide details later, but keep an eye out.

It was stolen in Mooresville, NC.

Detached garage. "Small" door was left open. I let my gueard dwon. I thought my neighborhood was safe. I just spent $200 at lowes on new lighting and locks for the garage.

That sucks donkey balls but thanks for sharing. Did you have the code set on the bike ? Just curious. Because of your post I just figured out how to set my code.

Was there any mods on the bike may be it might be easier to spot your bike from the next one.

Because I park my CR in the garage, I never enter the code at the house. I do when I'm parked elsewhere, but never at the house. I'd be surprised if he 'locked' the bike down using the electronic security settings.

Here are he 3 things I did wrong.

1) I did not lock my garage.
2) I left the keys on the bike.
3) I did not set the code.

My house has a detached garage. It is directly behind the house. The house and garage are probably 10 yards apart. On the far or open side of the garage is an alley. On the other side of the alley is another house. Sunday morning I go outside and my garage door is open. I can see it throught the "small" garage door facing the outside. I know I shut it the night before when we came back from wheelin in the Jeep. I enter the garage and immediately notice my bike is gone. Nothing else appears to be missing.

I had changed the oil in the bike the weekend before and I think I left the keys laying either on the instruments or on the seat. I felt secure in my neighborhood, so this was not unusual for me.

Cops came, took a report and tried to get prints of the garage door opener switch inside the door. No joy. The cop who came was a Corporal. He said the bike was either in a ditch or in a trrailer headed somewhere far away.

I put a description of the bike and the VIN on here and on Buelletinboards. If tyou know of anywhere else I should post the email, let me know or feel free to spread the word yourselves. I'd greatly appreciate it.

The bike was fully insured, but it's going to be difficult to replace. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

It was black, aftermarket mirrors (with blinkers) and a tidy tail type of set-up.

My email is chrisahughesatgmaildotcom.

A stolen motorcycle is a harbinger of societal malaise.
Back in the day, no one would dare touch a motorcycle much less steal one!
If someone would steal a motorcycle, they would also shot you for the change in your pocket.

I dunno. Given all the technical problems with these bikes, you might wanna count your blessings...

Mine has been in the shop for the better part of two months now.
