I talked with the repair shop today. They advised me that if their estimate includes the frame the insurance company will probably call it the bike a total loss, otherwise the repairs would be less than book value. The frame damage isn't too bad, they say (no leaks or alignment issues). Does anyone know how the procedure works for me buying the bike back if it is totaled by the insurance co? I could probably get the bike back on the road quicker with fleabay parts than waiting for new to be sent the the repair shop.

Call the insurance company and ask, not all companies allow you to buy back total losses.

Well I talked to the shop again today, looks like I am going to go with the repair estimate that doesn't include the frame. If the bike is totaled I will have to re-register it with a salvage title, have it re-inspected, etc. And pay off my loan. I am going to have the insurance co. kick me a check (minus deductible) and use the funds to replace the parts myself. I would like to have HDFR do the work, but I do not want to wait months for body parts. Maybe I will do it up in all CF. I was surfing American Sport Bike and they have a lot of cool stuff for me.
