Hey all,
I was out for a ride with two friends of mine on Sunday. I don't remember everything, but apparently my friends had already passed a car that appeared to be operated by a drunk person. When I went to pass they ran me off the road. I spent one night in the hospital. I have no broken bones, but am quite banged up on my knee, shin, shoulder, hand and hips. I was wearing my protective gear (boots, gloves, adventure pants, Joe Rocket Phoenix 4.0 jacket, full face helmet). I haven't seen the bike yet, but my friend showed me some photos and it doesn't look to bad. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot, the car wasn't registered or insured and the remaining 3 occupants at the scene smelled of alcohol according to one of my friends. They also threw suspected drugs out the car window. One of my friends found a box along the road with weed shake in it. The police are still investigating. I will know more about the bike once it is taken to Buell of Frederick for repairs. It is at the tow yard now. The whole thing sucks, I am thankful I am not seriously hurt, and I hope the police do their job and bring this a$$hole to justice. The other occupants of the car were arrested for making false statements as they told the cop that one of them was driving. I am quite angry, I hope they catch this guy and he has his day in court. I will keep you all posted.

Glad to hear the gear did what it was supposed to!

Unregistered, uninsured, drunk, and drugs in the car... wow. Yeah, I hope they find that guy and nail him to a wall for that wonderfully illegal set of issues.

The cops will but sadly enough the judge probably won't. I saw a case in Tampa where a Judge allowed a guy with prior DUIs and no license off with basically a slap on the hand. He KILLED someone! Apparently that doesn't matter anymore.

First off Cravacor, I am also glad to know that you are okay! That obviously could have been a lot worse for you. And I also share the disgust of FB32. I am unaware of how hard organizations like the AMA have worked to toughen the sentencing standards for this type of incident, but something has to be done. The responsibility of piloting a two ton deadly weapon is taken much too lightly in this country.

Had someone run a red light in front of me this morning, not drunk, just texting and driving. Glad to hear you didn't get too torn up.
