I don't have one of my other bikes here to compare, so can someone look at theirs for me?

Does the top of stock exhaust, in particular the weld bead, touch the bottom of the swing arm when the rear tire is unloaded?

I'm rehanging my stocker for now, and just noticed that... seems odd.

I'd also say that 190 tire is about 2mm from scuffing the cove of the exhaust...

Keep a watch on that tire as it will grow when spinning at speed and might drag on the cove of the exhaust.

Just checked mine, yeah it just touches the swingarm, at the top of the weld bead.

Thanks. Looks like the design didn't take into account the weld beads : )

Jim, do you have an aftermarket shock on there?

I do have an after market shock -- Penske. And, today, I was at cresson on one of my stock bikes and noticed there was enough clearance for the weld beads between the swing arm and exhaust...

Thoughts? I'm seriously thinking about returning to a stock exhaust to get a break from all the racket.

Lightly modified stock pipe?

If I could have a silent bike, I would in a heartbeat.

I had the modified exhaust on there for the weight savings. So, unless your mod knocks 10 lbs out of the weight of the stocker, I'm not keen on any benefits it might have.

I'm not particularly enamored with motor sounds in general, and the noise is certainly not part of why I enjoy motorcycles.

Unfortunately, no, there's no serious weight loss on this mod. It just sounds better than the stock pipe, it's got a little bit of thump but not a lot.

Yea, I know I'm weird.

When the first practical electric track bike comes out, I'll have one.
