I got my pump gas ecm yesterday for my completely stock 2009 buell 1125r . Stock exhaust, stock air cleaner the only mod is cr gearing. The bike runs so smooth at low cruising speeds. Very noticeable mid to high range power and the bike runs cooler. I own 2 1125r's the 2009 is my new project daily rider/road race track day bike. The 2008 is my race only drag bike. I run the fully programmable buell race ecm / buell race pipe on that bike. I'd had tuners who build 500hp turbo bikes to naturally aspirated pro stock bikes tune my bike. Since Ebr tuned my bike its made more power and ran better then ever. I'm running my best 1/4 mile times I've ever run 9.63 134 is my best of last week. I've just started testing with the bike and I'm faster every time I go to the track so better times to come.

I'm stating facts from my personal experience. Ebr has is covered weather your full race or an occasional track day guy. They have the best technical support, shoot them an email they respond with concrete answers. Yes there are good tuners out there but nobody knows the the bike better then Ebr!! My experience has been great and hope you experience the same.

Mike, did you suggest any tweaks to the ECM for your '09R stock bike ... Idle speed, O2 yes/no, engine braking yes/no, etc - Or just order and use it right off the shelf? My '09R (with regular R gearing) wants to know ; )

The only think I suggested is give me the best tune for the stock set up and speedo correction for the cr gear. Feels like a different bike. When ordering just give Ebr all the details on your bike so they can set up the ecm for your bike.

I'm lazy and didnt feel like starting a new thread , but made an interesting observation yesterday ....

I have the pump gas E B R ECM with the 02 sensors connected for a couple thousand miles now , and just to see what it would be like I disconnected my 02 sensors , like some of us did way back when as a band-aid to our ECM mapping issues , first off IMO the bike runs even smoother and has a really cool sound , however it seemed a little flat under hard acceleration .

The interesting thing I really found was the bike was running around 4-6 degrees cooler than my already lower running temps my bike was running after I installed the pump gas ECM , I'm guessing it must have richened up the bike even more , thus the cooler temps but flat on hard acceleration ...? at about 70 degrees lastnite , I dont think I saw much above 166 degrees .

I just thought it was interesting , and would pass it along ....

I traded emails with Erik Buell Racing (Michael) yesterday - Quite helpful. But on the question of O2 functional (Yes or No), it sounded like 'on the fence'. I'm tempted to keep mine functioning since I'm not a full on track guy. Yes, don't tell anyone ... But I plan to run this on the street. Shhhhh!

I went from the OZB performance flash n stock exhaust and filter to the HPE , E*R ECM and K&N , which took me from 26mpg to somewhere around 32mpg , 02's disconnected I only ran for a day and seemed like it was around 30mpg but not sure

Thurston, my bike ran rich on the dyno with the 02's disconnected. We had to lean it out up top with the stock ecm and PC.

Yeah - better mileage and smoother low rpm riding - needed in city and goat trails - sold it to me. Definitely why I ordered.

I'm finding Erik Buell Racing ECM for city riding (stop and go traffic) not as good as stock ECM. Low end pull below 3000 RPM does not seem to be as good as stock ECM. Subsequently, I have to rev a bit more to get the bike going from a full stop. Otherwise, the bike will stall if I start out like I did with the stock ECM.

Erik Buell Racing ECM, however, gives much smoother engine control.

Question please: to turn off the 02's do I simply unplug them and the race ecm won't throw a code? thanks

I can confirm that unplugging the O2 sensors with race ecm will not throw codes on my CR

The stock ecm won't throw a code, try it.

The reason you are experiencing this, is that the stock ecm automatically revs the bike when you release the clutch, the ebr ecm does not rev the bike when you release the clutch.

You nailed it Dktechguy112. I've put a few thousand miles on my Race ECM now and there is no way the stock ECM with the latest flash gives better low RPM response. There are some subtle differences that require a slightly different use of throttle input, but I want to make it clear that the Race ECM is far superior to the stock at low RPM riding.

I don't know guys, as a bystander with a stock 09, I'm not seeing much benefit from all these module, exhaust, tuning changes. Running better at low speeds ok, but running cooler??, flat spots and all, I don't hear much that would prompt me to change anything. I accept its stammering at lower speeds, its just simply not made to excel in that area. It's like taking a race horse to the starting gate,, but when the gate flies open it acts like it was made to act,, which is more than enough for me..

the key reason why so many people get the race ecm, is that the race ecm is tuned with only one thing in mind, making the bike perform the best it can everywhere. The stock ecm is tuned to pass epa regs. With the race ecm they can give the bike the proper fueling without worrying about epa crap. Which is why the race ecm makes the engine run better, and cooler.

Some must be more tolerable of surging at steady rpms, not even low rpms in my book. Mine was annoying enough to seek a solution. Some might be worse than others.
