I bought it new a couple months ago and its completely stock. I have about 3200 miles on it and I love it, but I want to make it mine. Before the end of summer I want to get the following items for my bike but am having some trouble finding a couple things:

exhaust- looking at the RT type 3
ECU- looking at Erik Buell Racing pump gas ECU
filter- K&N or does amsoil have one?
190 tire, have about 2-3k left on the stock
full street fairing kit- I like the solobuell but what is shipping going to cost to get it to texas? are there any other places making one? I also like the Erik Buell Racing fairings on the 1125R for the DSB set-up, but I tried to contact them after I didn't see the kit offered on the website and I received no response.

Here is a question, Does anyone make a kit to convert the hydraulic clutch to a cable, or is there a way to adjust where the clutch " catches"?

thank you

Jared

Air filter will be K&N or stock, dont ruin your handling with a 190, stick with the 180, look up cataylst composits or flixiglass for fairings. I have seen no one convert the clutch nor is it adjustable(get adjustable levers)

I too wasn't terribly happy with the stock clutch engagement location, but I adjusted the lever to engage as close to the handlebar as possible and I got used to it. (I have three other bikes so getting used to it actually means something--the other bikes have cable clutches adjusted how I like them.) It wasn't a big deal to get used to it.

Like Xnoahx said, don't go with a 190--there is absolutely no benefit in performance or handling and certainly a good possibility of negatively affecting those characteristics.

You can get the full fairings for the 1125R and 1125RR through EB racing. Just call them and tell them what you want. The body kits are not listed on website, but are available.

I got a 190 on mine I don't feel any difference in handling. I like it because it fills out the swing-arm nicely. But with that said, the manufacture of the tire plays a big part. from what I have noticed each tire has a different profile and they all ride different. my 2-cents

Stay away from 190... this bike just isn't the same on it. And, with the 5.50 wheel, the result is a profile that actually reduces the contact patch on the side if you mount a 190.

Stirz, are you sure about those Erik Buell Racing fairing kits? A few people here, myself included, have tried to buy them but never got a response. Do you have to tell them its for a race bike or something?

That's weird about the 190, the Erik Buell Racing 1125R comes with one and its the same size rim according to the specs. As far as the clutch, my other bike is a ZX6R and its a cable, I want that feeling on the Buell. I guess I will check out the places about the fairings. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Look again -- the RR and the 1190 come with a 6.0.

A 190 on the 5.5 does mount up funny. The profile is obviously different.

I bought the asv break away levers for my 1125R. These things allowed me to adjust the levers in far enough to let the clutch catch about 1/4 of the travel of the lever. Your actually just reducing the travel distance allowed by adjusting it closer to the grips. I didn't want to adjust it much more because i wanted to make sure it had enough space to disengage the clutch fully when pulled in. Hope this helps with the clutch levers. I think there are other brands of levers that offer a better adjustment over stock such as the ASV's. JMHO but I think the aftermarket clutch/brake levers are more comfortable as well than the stockers.

Pegasus -

I talked to Michael maybe 6 weeks ago. He said RR (similar to Daytona bike)being made by Plastifab, but EB could sell direct if I wanted one. I couldn't drop the $1500 at the time. The kit includes fairings, sides, pan and tail, and includes the 'delete fan' setup.

I know, and I'm telling you the tire profile ain't right when you do that. You get less contact patch on the sides and the bike handles dramatically different.

If ya like, I'll post up pictures of a 190 vs 180 of the same model tire on Buell 5.5 wheels. It's pretty obvious.

Seriously, I just went through this with the local Pirelli race dealer. We spent two days on track trying different tires on the bikes. If you want to run a 190, get a 575 or 600 wheel. The Buell 5.5 wheel causes the sidewall of a 190 to "V" out too much flattening the profile of the tire.

I run a 190 on the back of both my Buells and have for nearly 30K now. The Michelin 190 is rated to run a 5.5-6.0 wheel. It does change the way the bike feels in a corner. I like it better. With a 180 I feel like the bike falls into the corner, where the 190 I push into the corner. I love the way the 190 feels. I took my corsas off early because I couldnt stand the way they handled. Im not sure if it was the profile or the type of tire but the bike works 100% better now. If your doing it for looks I wouldnt bother as I can barely tell the difference visually.

Cool, because it was mainly for looks, I'll just keep the 180 then, but fairings are still a question. I shot an email to Erik Buell Racing and the response I got was the only fairings they have are the RR, which won't do me any good because I ride everyday to work, and I need my headlights. I really wanted the side and lower fairings on the 1125R DSB bike they have. I looked at flexi-glass and I don't really care for the look of rad ram side fairings and they don't have any pics of the regular side fairings. Also, the competition lower, is that the belly pan? I think I saw a post somewhere else saying that it doesn't allow the use of your kick-stand, is this correct? Thanks again.

rpm4x4: Do you run a 55 or 50 profile?

Jdugger, I understand that the profile changes. My point is that the Erik Buell Racing 1125R does indeed come equipped with a 5.5 inch rim and a 190 tire, contrary to what some have stated here.

More or less, yes. The Erik Buell Racing belly pan also requires you to fabricate your own brackets.

Remember that the primary function of the belly pan is to collect a fluid spill, so cutting the side out for a kick stand rather defeats the purpose.

You can cut the headlight openings.

Or you can get a street kit from Catalyst.

"You can cut the headlight openings.

Do you have more info on their street kit as they do not show it on their website nor in their pdf catalog. Also, I haven't looked closely at it, but do the lights not mount to the front fairing in some way or just to the fairing stay that holds the instrument cluster also?

Does anyone have pictures of the non-ram air flex-glass fairings?
