Not bad...
I just fitted the Jardine fender-eliminator on mine. Looks a lot better without the big stock fender...

Swoop - that thing looks good and strong. Are those tail lights metal? The back end now looks proportionally balanced.

Looks really nice! What's the purpose of the bar under the plate bracket? Did you make any patterns?

the bar is there to make ti feel more rigid, i guess it really doesn't need to be there, probably just me over building things as usual.
I didn't make any patterns just kinda eye balled it all. Oh and yes the lights are aluminum.

Swoop - the bar is a good idea when attaching plate, keep it.
I used 304 SS and sandwiched it between 2 bars for the same reason.

My old eliminator from eBay, would suggest NOT buying it, my rear wheel came up and broke it in half.

My new homemade eliminator, used the base of the eBay special which made things easier, tabs waiting for some better turn signals, prob from American Sport Bike.

I think the foam tape was overkill. My tool bag gets wet every time I wash mine. Water gets in from the pillion seat.

Swoop,
I like your turn signal bracket. I’m going to make one just like it. I was walking around work the other day and saw a plastic license plate bracket that goes on one of the CVO Softails models. Since I own all Buells I don’t pay much attention to the Harleys but this plastic license plate bracket caught my eye. It looks just like the plate that Swoop is using but plastic and has two mounting holes at a 45 degree angle at the top. I ordered two, 73255-10 and will post pictures when I get them and mount them on my 1125R and Uly. BTW the price of the part is only 9.95………not that I want to put a UGGG, Harley part on my Buells but at under 10 bucks each I think I can deal with it……stay tuned…..

Craig - make or buy a plate-sized sheet to back your plate and use all 4 corners.
I've seen lots of plates mounted like that break at the corners.

Minimal is good, I was a bit overkill with mine.
I had full access to a big machine shop.

A timely post indeed! I have made up the "U" shaped piece to fit in the large hole shown in Swoop's first 2 pics but was pondering what to do next. Now I know - thanks all!

I like how you used the stock bolt locations to attach the plate. Good Idea. I ended up drilling holes into my plastics but I wanted the plate set a bit deeper.

That will be illegal soon. Toll roads can't read plate!
