Fresno - no definately miles but I must have misread (I was a bit busy at the time LOL). No biggie, I'll have another go. In the UK they can actually send you to prison for speeding, it's happened a few times in the past few years. I did once get a ticket for 176.6MPH and received a ban but was VERY lucky that it was just a 4 day ban, no points and a £450 fine. The lesson I learnt from that experience is just to choose the location/time more carefully and to fit a flip plate to the bike.. |

I hit 170 on a friends R1 and ran out of road. My 1125r I got 162 and i really think thats the aerodynamic limit with me on it because it wouldn't hold that speed. On another note I'm pretty sure my bike dynoed at 165 so that 172 sounds like a mis-read not trying to bust balls just saying |

That is 216mph, I think you (or Paul and Gracie) had some speedo issues. |

The 50 mph at the other end was accurate, this was mid ohio on the back straight. You haul all the way down, peaking speed just after the slight kink to the right, then jump on the brakes for a right hander. If you plot the points on Google Earth, they are dead on the track. If there was a lot of noise, they would have been plotted off the track in some direction. So no doubt there was some noise, but 12ft or better is common for a garmin with external high gain antenna. What I don't know is the precision of the clock. If it just uses whole seconds, that could throw it off by 1/6 or so. But the GPS has far more accuracy then that, the clock precision is how it finds its location. It's likely accurate down to the microsecond. Regardless, it was fast enough to scare the crap out of me, and fast enough that I let off the throttle before the bike was done. I'm glad I did it once, not really interested in doing it again... |

The cr doesn't like speeds over 100, it doesn't feel planted at all. A steering dampener is on my wants list. |

143 on the freeway at 4am. Would have continued but there are limited areas around here that I feel somewhat safe when riding at that speed. Don't want the police catching me. Good times though! I must say that the 1125r didn't wobble or feel odd in the least. It was straight and steady all the way up and back down. Very confidence inspiring. |

140mph with the wife on back of my 08 R. Was slowly increasing speed when my wife smacked me in the ribs. I know, not very smart, but she was all for it until the feeling of falling off the back hit her. When I stopped she was smiling and said "that was cool." Haven't done it since. |

I got pulled over on the way to work doing 150. I was hauling arse because a storm was rolling in and i didn't want to get nailed. The cop was a buell fan and let me go. Also i was in uniform so there was some professional courtesy. |

after i had my 1125R tuned the first time(jardine protuner) i hit 178mph, then after second tuning (who needs that top end, power much more useful in midrange) i can only get about 165mph |

I would love to find that 10 mile empty road, except being that if it was in NY, that means at least 12 cops would be sitting waiting! |

after i had my 1125R tuned the first time(jardine protuner) i hit 178mph im just surprised no ones jumped all over this...(i looked at it earlier) i dont know the math on it, but im pretty sure i remember correctly, the fact that with stock gearing thats not attainable, and i have yet to hear of an 1125 speedo being that far off... |

No_rice- He could've raised the rev limiter, if thats possible with the protune...id be interested to see what an Erik Buell Racing race ecm would do with the top speed since it has an 11k redline... on a second note, with the power and aerodynamics of a stock R, if gearing was not a problem and you could re-gear it, what do you think the R is capable of bone stock with different gearing?? The ones I have pull very strong to the high 150's but gets LAZY after that. From 162 to 166 took a long time. Bike wasn't done but I gave up. A taller gear would probably slow it down. |

> 142mph but in quarter of a mile That's just plain f'ing amazing. I hit about 130-135 on the back straight at Eagles Canyon. It's 2000 ft long, and I go into it out of turn 6 carrying 70-80 MPH. Yea, it's up hill. But still. WOT for many seconds. Way more than it's taking you to shake out that quarter mile. You gots some skills, man, and I'm impressed. I usually 'make fun' of drag race types, but you are 10 MPH faster from a dead start in half the distance than I am with a 70mph run at it. That's no laughing matter. I'm getting my ass kicked. |

Ok. So the the other day when my bike was still new. I was on my way to work and just merged on to rt.309 traffic was so thick in front of me I decided to roll at 5 mph to give them a head start and clear the way. Meanwhile there was no traffic behind me for about 60 seconds. When I started seeing cars behind in my mirrors I read "the objects in mirror are closer....." scared the crap out of me. I hit 140mph in about 8 seconds in about a 1/4 mile. Can't really speak on th accuracy of my run but I'm sure it was some where between fast as hell and fast as $#!t. Not quite fast as £uck, but still pretty fast. |
