The new frame will come with the same VIN, the old frame or at least the part with the VIN should go back to them to complete the exchange.

If you want a frame with the same/street legal VIN you would have to go thru HD. I would think that a frame from Erik Buell Racing would only have a serial number.

they told me the frame is a pull off from an 09 cr, so i imagine it will have a vin on it, but not my vin.

I don't care enough about the vin to pay over double the price to get a frame through harley. I guess i can just keep the old frame with the vin. Is the vin printed anywhere else on the bike?

i have the same problem. I got a used frame with a vin number. i went and talked to the dps(texas) and they said you can apply for a new vin number. and you have to take a picture with the new frame and the old frame. the a picture with the new frame on the completed bike. then they give u a new vin.. and i guess u can punch in the new vin number yourself. not completely sure how this works; i havent gone through the whole process yet. but ill find out some more tom. and post some usfuall info.

btw, i went to hd and asked about them stamping a vin in the new frame i got. they didnt say the knew what i was talking about. those guys are so much help!! ha
