It rained here all day and became sunny and warm about 5ish. Went out for a ride about 630ish and the streets weree all dry. I made a right turn down a side road and ran into gravel over paint and lost the front end. I countered and got it back but ended off the pavement and into the rain soaked and muddy shoulder. I tried to get the front tire back on the road but it couldnt get over the lip of the asphalt and thats when I knew it was over. Luckily I always gear up. Gloves, Buell adventure jacket, Icon pants & TCX boots saved my hide. No blood anywhere but just a few scuffs around the outside of the knee armor. I did manage to rip some stuff in my shoulder tho. I think the armor actually dug into me on impact. My R looks like complete shit but I think its all fixable. Be careful out there!!!!

Anytime there's even moderate rain, I plan on debris-wash. It's part of my "ride in rain like driving in snow" mantra - you just never know.

Take care of the shoulder; glad you're OK. The bike'll clean up just fine : )

You are lucky. With all the rain here this weekend there is MAJOR wash outs of driveways and fields onto the roads. Waaay fun, yeah right.

Glad you were geared up, hope you heal quick.

UPDATE!!!

I bought my bike last Nov from the local Buell/HD dealer. I noticed my fairing was melting and the clutch was making its spot in my garage. I take it to the dealer I bought it from and go to the service counter. Im wearing a Buell adventure jacket, Icon pants, TCX boots and have a Buell flame helmet in my hand. I dont look like anyone else in the HD palace....

Me: Hi Im here to get my bike looked at.
Service guy: No problem were not busy we can get you in right now.
Me: Awesome Ill go grab some lunch while you check it out.
Service guy: What year is it?
Me: Its a 2008
Service guy: Softail, Vrod?
Me: naw its an 1125R
Service guy: Thats not a Harley
Me: Its a Buell
Service guy: Buell is out of business we dont work on them here.
Me: I bought it here 3 months ago.
Service guy: let me check
Me: OK thanks
Service guy: We have Zero Buell parts here but you can leave it....
Service guys walking in while Im standing there go who parked a rice rocket by the front door?

Got back on the bike rode about 35 minutes to another dealer. Walked in and met the service manager. 20 minutes later my parts were ordered (fairing and clutch kit). Also bought an extended warranty/wheel & tire package that day.

I wrecked on Monday evening turning and hit some wet gravel over paint. Lowsided into grass.

Fast forward to TODAY 5 May 2010....
Called the dealer I bought the bike from...
Me: Hi yadda yadda I had an accident my bike is being towed there right now.
Same service guy from months ago....
Yeah its here looks rough.
Me: Can I give you HD reference number for a cali can for fumes and ask about insulating the frame?
SG: Whats that?
Me: 1125s have a fuel fumes issue, its a bullitin.
SG: Never heard of it before we may have to charge you. We are backed up and I cant even look at your bike today.
Me: No problem call me

Fast forward to 430 today. I call the service manager at the dealer I would prefer did my work. Explain whats going on in detail. My Ins co would only transport it to the nearest repair location which was where I bought it.

SM: I got you covered, your fairings and clutch are here. We installed a Cali can yesterday at no charge on another 1125. I will pick up your bike tomorrow from the other dealer and pay for it myself. 3 techs there ride buells so that removes the guess work. I will contact your insurance rep and get the details. I will call you back in 20 minutes.
SM calls back: Everything is done I will call you tomorrow when it gets here.
Me:

I must give kudos to Brians HD of Langhorne PA. They have customer service that everyone should expect when they are dealing with someones passion and transportation.

Amen to that, I myself wished I lived closer to Brians or Western Reserve. Western-Reserve has always treated me right when ordering parts, I've never been there yet but they always shipped them to me as soon as they got them. Called said they are coming in x day, called the day they came in, then called and said they were shipped.. normally the day before.

That's about my experience with Santa Fe vs Albuquerque - Albuquerque would rather I not bring my plastic thing in, Santa Fe goes out of the way to help make things right, their techs ride Buells, their service manager has a garage full of them, and it's totally worth the hour ride to get there for service, because they treat me like they *want* a customer, not like they have to put up with this guy who's not ordering chrome.

I like the answers from some service guys at dealers that hate Buell's.

What's that? Is my favorite response.

Glad you found someone that took care of you.
