I got my tax refund back, it was $350 and i want to spend it on my 1125cr. Things I am considering: 1. Erik Buell Racing ecm 2. radar detector/radar jammer 3. ticket fund (I know its inevitable on these bikes) what do you guys think? I would love to get the ebr ecm, but i'm not sure that it work with my cali bike, as it has a cat converter. but i am using the bike as a commuter, so it would be nice to smooth out the low end a bit. |

ECM or trackday. The ECM will make the bike feel nicer but the trackday will make you faster |

ECM Or you could hire me to ride the bike for you so you could have the unrivalled pleasure of watching your bike put through its paces from the comfort of your lawn chair...whatever makes the most sense. |

badlionsfan, I am looking into that class, it looks like they don't have one in my area for a while. I looked on amazon, and he has a book out called total control, its like $20, do you think the book is worth buying? http://www.amazon.com/Total-Control-Performance-St reet-Techniques/dp/0760314039/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s =books&qid=1272854859&sr=8-1 |

Avoid the ticket fund unless you plan to get a ticket. Seems to me that your ticket fund is an enabler for you to get tickets. If your ticket fund is empty, then (maybe) you won't count on it and will avoid getting them in the first place. - I know it's hard, but it is cost-effective. +1 on track days (maybe even 2 for $350) |

Its a good book Twist the Throttle by Keith Code, also read one by rege pridmore cant recall title and Nick Inastesh Total Control. These books and trackdays help alot. Track days at jennings gp in FL are a blast. You will still have money for a blue windscreen and a Erik Buell Racing ECM (Message edited by jackgraves on May 03, 2010) |

Think good riding gear first! Unless you're all set in that department, of course. |

I just installed my ECM w/ 1200rpm idle. The difference it makes is mind blowing. These guys aren't BSing about how amazing it is. You won't regret it. |

Track day, "Total Control" and a notebook to record your suspension settings and tire info as you dial in the suspension. |

Another yay for riding gear. Even though the cost adds up quick, the price of being laid up, medical bills, and even worse; makes the investment a no brainer. This season I purchased the Buell 98101 race jacket and pants that have the full circumferential waist zipper. I am very happy with the gear, never get on without being fully dressed out for the worst, and will use them for track days and drag racing. Certainly you can spend a lot more than $350 on gear. But you can also find some sweet deals on good used stuff. I managed to find a pair of Joe Rocket Sonic Boots on Craigslist for $35 in excellent condition. They retail at about $105 and had been worn one track day. Happy Hunting! |

I have a good jacket, its a power trip powermonger, its mesh with armor. I would like to get some good riding pants, i usually just wear jeans. I'll check out craigslist for some gear, that is a good idea. |

I'm going through Lee Park's Total Control now. Only into the first few chapters. Tell you what, right off the bat, steer with only using the inside hand... awesome advice. I over steered some much the first time... I mean just do it. So yeah spend the money on the Lee Park's class and buy his book. Next year when I am State-side again, I'm taking his class. And this is coming from and MSF RiderCoach. |
