What are you using and why? I've heard of several mfg's and a few are considered "flakey" and don't perform 100% all the time. Innovate is one that I'll probably avoid because of this.
PLX devices is supposed to be good, but I don't know a lot about them.
Haltech was one of the original controller setups, so I'm looking at that one pretty hard right now, the only drawback is that it's not waterproof.

I want a dual O2 setup, with a gauge or 2, data-logging is a must. I had kicked around the idea of building it myself, but I just don't have enough time to do it. I ride daily, so I can make adjustments each night if I need to. I'll end up doing a few more dyno runs after it's all set to see for sure what I get.

I use a PLX wideband setup on my Silverado SS *turbo, methanol, etc). If you have any doubts shoot them an email, they will *in my experience* give you a no bs pro/cons assessment of their products. I can vouch for their gauge quality and led products, they are innovative, lightweight and durable. Again... your results may vary.

I have nothing to say about Innovative. No experience with their stuff.

I wish we had a sponsor on the board that could order from a company like PLX. Would be cool to see that connection made.

I am one of PLX devices Biggest buyers, we have used OVER 1000 of their SM-AFR's. I would bet my life and everyone else's on their products. They are top notch. Speak with mike over there and tell him Cody from RetroTekspeed sent you. I haven't spoke with him in a while but he should remember who I am.

We used Innovates LC1's in the past and they were a shoot in the dark at best... I will never use one of their products ever again. This was about 3 yrs ago... Hopefully they have gotten better.

Tech Edge is also a VERY good, nice, small, accurate setup.

Zeitronix - great.
F.A.S.T. - toy.
The zeitronix unit will do nearly anything you want. I have mine set up thru a palm v for datalogging, which is very handy.Picked mine up thru ebay for iirc $260 , and the palm for about 20 , and the palm software from Zeitronix was another 20 or so. I am only running single, but again iirc the unit WILL do dual.Had about $350 into a FAST unit, and found it to be about one step above guesswork. I am sure for other applications the FAST unit is great- but it just cant compare to the Zeitronix setup. definately worth researching, hope this helps.

+1 on the innovate. have had the lm-1 for ~5yrs now. i have yet to try it on the buell but it's been relatively easy to datalog with either the auxbox or cable.

Well, it looks like the PLX stuff might win out on this one. Daisy chains together, pretty small units, supports datalogging and also narrowband output to go back to the ecm. If only it were waterproof... gotta sort that part out yet. I'm really starting to like the datalogger unit though, it looks pretty damn good. I've been hunting around this morning and have 2 SM-AFR's and the iMFD Data Logger down to $600 shipped.
It's not exactly cheap, but they look pretty user friendly and relatively easy to install or setup.

Ok, I guess things will start getting really busy at the garage this next week. I ordered the PLX Devices stuff today, I assume it will show up sometime late this week. I will be getting two SM-AFR's and the Data Logger unit. I may add other modules at a later date, like the EGT one, but for now this should be enough to get started. Hope this goes the way I plan it to. Most stuff does unless my wife gets involved. I try to keep her out of the garage though.

I've been using an LM-1 since 2005 on alky and gas motors. I recall at that time, Innovate was the only unit priced right that had the features I needed. No problems to date.

My AFV's finally started moving around on me some. I got a 16.5% spread, so for the time being, I bumped up the rear to 110 and the front is at 116.5 and it's running pretty smooth now. I don't know when the wideband stuff will show up, but I'll be putting it to good use soon. I rolled it all the way down to 2500 rpm in 6th gear, it's still fairly smooth even there, no real chugging or stuttering. It was right at 40 mph in 6th for those of you who are curious or haven't done it. I also lowered the idle to 1300 rpm and bumped the WOT an extra 5% to see what it does. It's pretty scary now, I'm guessing I've got 350+ hp at the wheel.

Hahah, just kidding. I don't have a clue what it's at. Probably 135-140 but until I get it dialed in, I'm not going to dyno it again. It's going to take a while to get this all done, I keep getting more orders for pipes. I guess I'm at a 3-4 week delay now, I have 7 to build out right now. The orders are much appreciated, but I can only do so much at a time. I know I'd have more orders but shipping overseas is expensive. I can't control those costs, so it's not good for the guys over in Europe/Italy and also Australia that want them. : ( Wish I could do one for everyone now, I'd be able to retire.

Hope I am somewhat close to the front of that line . Can't wait to hear that RT3 in person.

Only about 700 miles actually, doing some fuel economy testing, but it takes forever to burn through two tanks of gas on this thing : )

Jredx1 -- #2 on the list. I had to get a whiteboard and put it in the garage to keep track of what's done and not, who's getting what, etc. I'm also going to work on the collector stand/jig this week to try and speed things up some and also make it more repeatable. I know some of the parts came in today, so I've got enough to build 2 or 3 for sure now.

I also ordered another $800+ in materials today, so it's just a matter of getting it all here to build it. I guess I'll try submitting the RT-2 and RT-3 for the shootout since I have the round can already done. If I can swing it, I'll do all 3, but time will become an issue here pretty fast. It's only a month away and I have too many to build as it is. I forgot who asked for it, but the next RT-2 will be with straight outlets on a 45 degree angle with about a 40 degree down angle unless you guys want something else done. I won't have time for the RT-4 at this point.

Not was, will be. Dual outlet with an X-pipe, a pair of 3.5" cans with 2" cores. I have the design in my head, I just don't have time to get one done before the shootout. If I get lucky and have some spare time (hahah) I'll try to build it before the Homecoming event. I know there will be an RT-1 and an RT-3 there, so there will be some good reference pipes to see while everyone is there. If I don't get it done, I'll be running either the RT-1 (my original) or RT-2 that I plan to build in the next week or so. That's the one I'll send out for the shootout.

Sweet!
I should be at homecoming as well, so that will make one more RT3 there.

Stuff came in today, it's smaller than I thought it would be. The display is tiny but it looks like it will be perfect up under the windscreen somewhere. Even comes with a fully adjustable mount for it. Pics tonite when I get home if I remember. Already took them, just need to post.

Haha I could have told you the size....... TINY!

Once you put the display under your windscreen you'll never want to take it out. Trust. I have had their M300 under the dash of my Sprint for four years and can tell what's going on with the EFI at all times. It has become as important as the oil pressure or tach to me.

Yeah, I'd like to leave it on there all the time but it's not waterproof, none of it is except the wideband sensor itself. It does look like it will be easy enough to take just the display off if I need to, only a couple of connections on it. Will it power up off of the usb connection or does it need the 12v supply to get the data off of it?

Well the SM-AFR's are not water proof and you will never successfully make them waterproof. So just hide those... Probly under the seat. The wires that go to the O2 sensors are like 20' long. They will need the 12volt to heat up the O2's and give the readings to the display. You don't NEED the display if is set of raining out...

I'm planning on either bagging or boxing the controller units so they stay dry. I think mine came with 10' of wire on each sensor, so there will be some coiled up under the seat as well. I want to find a way to make the display at least semi-waterproof or resistant anyway, I don't need it shorting out on me. $250 just for the datalogger/display. I need to figure out a way to send the tach signal to it also, I didn't see anything on the PLX site for it, but I might have missed it.

Hey Dean.. look for an Aqua box that is the same size. Just drill holes and use silicone around the holes once you run the wires!
